Thread: Lake Mead Current Conditions

  1. #1
It appears roadways at Lake Mead are closed in Nevada and open in Arizona.
On this National Parks Website it says you can hike, bike or wheelchair into Lake Mead but not drive in.
It also states that if you go from Nevada to Arizona and back to Nevada again you are supposed to self quarantine.
Has anyone actually been over to the Arizona side recently?
Does anyone know when Nevada will allow us to go fishing or camping again??
Any information is welcome about Lake Mead, Nevada Lakes and Parks or your local area.
I was thinking about going to a beach in California but they just closed those all down lol.
I and other Americans pay yearly dues, along with tax dollars, to enter these National Parks so please, open them the Fuck Up!!

What the heck do the imaginary lines between states have to do with anything virus? Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts are linked together like one state but we have the same insanity here. Something is going to give. Hopefully.

Not letting people go out and fish or sit by the lake is insanity.
Especially Lake Mead as people are not wall to wall next to each other.
I hardly see another person on shore where I go.
I forgot to put the link in the OP.

Quahaug is correct about the synergy between southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In early April three Massachusetts golfers went to Rhode Island to meet a buddy and play golf. When they went to put their golf clubs away after the round (in a McDonald's parking lot) an employee called the local cops. The three Massachusetts golfers were arrested and have a court date in mid May.

Golf courses are closed in Massachusetts. Also, there were signs on this particular Rhode Island golf course that it is for RI residents only, due to the desire that individuals quarantine themselves for 14 days if they enter the state.

Crazy times. At least we know that the Russians will not invade America via water through Newport, RI.

Lucky for us boating and fishing, recreational and commercial, is so part of the culture along with boat building that the freaks in charge probably won't mess with it. thank God.

Funny I hadn't heard that story about an actual arrest but I can barely watch the news these days.

Temple Bar Rd off the 93 is paved and is your best bet.

Kingman Wash is closer to the side of Mead you know, but it's a difficult dirt road, and also may not be open.

Idiotic that they have tiny areas like Cottonwood Cove closed in NV, which hardly get people anyway.

I hope you all understand that the illusion you've been under that you have rights....is just an illusion.

Thanks for the reply and information.
I guess you are currently in Nevada and not California?
Have you actually drove over to Arizona and back?
If so did you have any issues at the border?
Just curious as it would be nice to go over to the lake and get some sunshine along with relaxation.
If not Lake Mead I am thinking about trying to find a more secluded lake in Nevada... perhaps near Reno.
I am guessing all of Lake Tahoe is closed.

No doubt and your point is valid.
We could discuss how most lives average 75 years and are in vain which is a much bigger issue.
However, if you could point me to the country that is better to live in or has more liberties than the US of A, I am listening.
I or you or any citizen of the United States can buy a P51 Mustang, Tank or Bazooka if they want.
I'm not sure you have that right or liberty in any other country in the world?

Funny how the scum in charge close the bathrooms to the public. Its much more sanitary pissing and shitting on the ground. It's like vacationing in India.

"I'm FREE because I can buy a Bazooka if I want!" exclaimed the citizen, obsequiously abiding by the stay-at-home orders.

Not sure I get your point.
I'm certainly not following any specific orders.
    They closed the roads.
I see no reason to barge down the closed road, trying to draw attention or trouble for myself.
You have to pick your battles and I don't see any need, at the moment, to stir up trouble.
I don't belong to any right wing groups or militias so not too much I can do for the time being.
For some sort of rebellious action you would need to be somewhat organized.
Personally, the safety of my family, is the most important thing, no matter what the outside world is doing.
However, if pushed too far, an individual may have to choose between Liberty or Death.

Nothing is open, so its not like I can go to some Casino, Restaurant, Store and force them to accept my business.
Gyms and basically every form of entertainment is closed.
Although, most Gun Stores are Open!
I was "staying at home" for decades before it now became law or popular.
I try to find things to do outside for my wife because she can't handle the Lock Down.
Some people just can't mentally handle being at home watching tv, cleaning, cooking, playing games... etc etc.
The constant Fear Mongering from the Media doesn't help her or her type.
Some people actually believe the Air is Infected and they are going to catch it or die lol.

I don't fully cooperate with these stay at home orders.
I go out to the mountains or desert almost every day.
I hop the fence at some dog parks late at night or early morning.

The lakes aren't exactly closed because you can get to them by foot or bicycle so you are allowed to fish.
However they blocked off and closed the roads for vehicles which is kinda a problem.
I certainly don't want to cross state lines if they are going to give me some hassle when I return back to my home state.
That doesn't seem worth the bother.

I understand you are just trying to needle me or make fun of me and my thoughts.
I get it and I don't have a problem with that but you are probably better off being more derogatory and to the point.
I think what you posted is a losing debate from your position.
I would think that the ultimate freedom in the world is to buy, sell and own firearms legally.
I think many people underestimate how strong that freedom is.
Also, the Freedom to pray to the god of your choice in public is pretty strong.
Right to Assemble and Freedom of Speech is no slouch.
Even the right to be Straight or Gay is kinda a big deal as you can't do that in every country around the world.
It wasn't long ago that in America, England and other countries you would go to prison for being openly gay.
Happened to that guy Oscar Wilde who said he found Jesus in Prison.
If citizens lose some of these basic rights, America will turn into Red China or North Korea.

After 9/11 they had this checkpoint set up for a few years when you would travel into Las Vegas from Arizona.
It was a few miles before you went over the Hoover Dam before they built the Super Highway and Bridge.
I seem to recall them stopping you going in and out of Nevada for some time.
They would either just say hello and wave you through or sometimes they would direct you to the side and check under your hood.
    Search your car.
If they start doing that again I don't particularly want to leave Nevada to go Fishing for a few days.

Monet, I wouldn’t spend too much time debating with straightandhatingit. Remember this is the same guy who believes Occan’s razor should lead everybody to believe there’s multiple ETs and UFOs floating around in outer space. Lol.

I think straightandhatingit lives in science-fiction fantasy land. He’s probably protecting an imaginary ET in his basement right now against the coronavirus.

    It's cool.
I am sure he is just trying to get a reaction.

I was just curious what your handle "straightandhatingit" means.

Are you straight and want to be gay or gay and pretending to be straight?

No big deal if you don't want to answer. Just curious.

  19. #19
Well to be fair you can be straight and hate it and not really want to be gay either. Nowadays for the say under 35 straight male crowd it’s a mine field many of these ladies just want to catfish you into paying for their webcam or to cashapp them and all that jazz, or #metoo you, you just never know what you’re going to get. I imagine the gays have it easier.

for over a decade my online handle has been gayandlovingit, but after just a few posts on another bj forum I learned that gimmick was already taken by KJ. straightandhating was supposed to be a throwaway account to respond to one of KJ's posts here (since my handle and timing was obviously suspicious), but it turns out this is a reasonably active forum and clearly shitposting is acceptable so here I am
