Debated posting this but we did a Vegas trip during while the casinos were closed for a few reasons. The flights were cheap, I could use the miles toward elite status and I figured it was a once in a lifetime experience. Also one can’t preach there is next to no risk to most of us and not live it. I’ll put the pictures up in a few posts to not overload it.
I won’t announce the exact dates but it’s been over 4 weeks and I’m fine. I flew in one day, stayed 2 nights and flew back. My Non stop back was cancelled so they flew us to LAX for an hour layover and then NS back East. It actually got be more mileage so it was a win. Flights were not too full, maybe 30 people including flight crews from another airline.
We walked the strip with others including many bicycles with kids. Sorry, no one on a Unicycle. It was surreal with everything closed. Look a ride out west including lunch at the Pioneer Saloon and spent some time with Tom there. Said they are struggling big time but there was a few bikers outside who bought beers and sat across the street off their property. Other food options we visited were Pizza Rock and Taco El Gordo. Also spent some time on East Fremont and Boulder Highway taking pictures of the old motels still open and others now closed. I will say it was amazing to see hookers still working outside the motels and convenience stores in the area. Along with crowds of people hanging outside these places drinking. Drugs are bad, ok.
While many or most wont agree with my trip, I’m glad I did it and hopefully something I never see again.
