Thread: tier level effected by coronavirus.

Not sure where this one should go, but it is related to Vegas, so this works.

Up until 2 years ago I was always chairman at the station casino chain. About the only benefit I actually used was the 50% off buffets at all times and the shorter lines at restaurants. Over the last 2 years I have moved away from machine play which is where I generated my points, and for each of the last two years only got to the platinum level which has no discounts or benefits. Just a general peon.

So this year, in January, I decided to go for presidential which would give me those same benefits, 50% buffet at all times and the shorter line. I picked a multiplier day and hit it in one day, accumulating enough points to pay for 50% price for the whole year. I figured I would use this perk 3-4 times a week when I had no better offers. And because I hit it in January it was good for the whole year.

So along comes coronavirus and I have lost 3 months worth of half price buffets and now it looks like buffets won't even be reopening. That is sort of good as I won't have to make the decision as to whether I want to rush back to a buffet. But I sort of feel like I have been screwed out of my 50% perk that I intended to use often throughout the year. It's not like it is a lot of money, at 50% off 3-4 times a week, we are talking about a thousand dollars or so. Just the principal. Damn coronavirus....screwing up my life (and meals).

Maybe you can still take them up on the free cruise offer.

Aren't Station Casino tiers valid for only six months?

But they did extend the first half year tiers till the end of the year so you lost nothing.

Also I think only Chairman gets 50% off buffets when the buffets are paid for using points. I'm not sure what discount the President gets.

No you are wrong on both points. The 50% you can look up at tier benefits, I am not going to bother linking.

For how long I am absolutely sure I played in January and earned presidential and even before the shutdown my expiration date was 12/31/2020. That is what is printed on my card and that is a card from before the shutdown. If that is not the normal period, maybe I took advantage of a promotion but I don't remember that and I think I would

Here's what it is Andrew. You keep the status for the 6 month period that you earned it, plus the following six month period. Otherwise if you earned President or Chairman on the last week in June, it would be good for a day or two.

So I earned in January, got the whole 6 month period that I earned it in, plus the flowing 6 month period which expires Dec 31, 2020.
