Thread: More Hurt....

I'll bet Rob could show us a picture with his feet on the bed in the camper......LOL....Probably even under the covers.

Another $500 freeroll alert. Bring the throw pillows from Newell and the squeegee over to camper and take a pic on the camper bed. A bonus $500 to then go back to the Newell and take a pic showing the same interior with that trailer park out the window.

Easy 1k. Rob can send 1/2 of it to Mickey for being such a good stage boy.

    ***48 hour window***I won't hold my breath.....LOL

Ideally pictures shouldn't even be the thing.

Rob made the DU bug claim roughly 18 months ago. The Newell didn't become part of the story until Rob declared that he used DU bug money to purchase it. I don't know when that was but it was a while back. Almost immediately many of us began asking for proof that this Newell even existed. As I have stated that wouldn't have proven Rob's claim, but it would have been supporting evidence. He says he bought a 1.5 million dollar Newell RV with the DU bug money. Here is the Newell RV. Would have gone a long way.

So let's be clear, Rob lives in Phoenix most of the year. Several of us challenging or questioning him live in Las Vegas. That is 300 miles. For a reasonable wager, not even a huge wager, just a reasonable wager to cover expenses, Some of us would probably have been willing to go to Phoenix, meet up with Rob, have him show us the Newell and maybe some paperwork. He could have proudly shown off the inside, made us all eat crow and even have won himself a bit of money. And this all would have been over. Rob the victor.

But at no time did he ever suggest that until the day he is leaving town. At that point he suggests we can meet him in Colorado, 800 miles away, instead of the 300 that we could have met anytime throughout the year. AND just in case anyone was considering that, Rob threw in that we couldn't get to close to the Rv or he would shoot us. The RV is what it was all about!

Does that sound like a guy wanting to get to the bottom of this or a guy doing everything he can to NOT get to the bottom? A guy with something to hide?

Am I reading this correctly...so we will be free to visit a unit that will be consigned for sale in the Fall? Is this circular story ever going to end?

Didn't we already see Rob lounging awkwardly in a unit that Max figured out was for sale (but not for sale by Rob)?

Quite frankly....I'm disappointed with how this latest episode of As Grandpa Newell's Dreams Turns is turning out. It may require a retake. Can you 2 idiots go back to the drawing board and come back with something more realistic? And retitle this thread to More Lies....

I was hoping for some hurt. It is hard to get hurt playing with children though.

Why do we have to wait until Fall? Rob says he is summering at Lake Tahoe. While not as close as Phoenix, lake Tahoe is 440 miles away. For the right wager, some of us will go to Lake Tahoe and check it out and this can all be over with. If Rob is telling the truth he can make himself a nice payday.

Rob's Newell has the same identical interior. Right down to the shower squeegee in the same exact spot. Just ignore the president of Newell saying no 2 are alike. According to Rob they produced his model for 5 years. Nobody knows Newell like Rob and Stageboy Crimm. That includes the president of Newell Motor Coach. These 2 alike idiots are doubling down on stupid.

"In the preceding 44 years, Newell has built 1341 coaches, no two identical."

Here's the thing: Some people are wondering what is going on because Rob has always been so careful to cover his tracks. So this seems unusual. and out of character for him

But things changed when Rob did the interview with Wizard. In addition to Mike asking for some kind of proof, Dan Druff posted the following both here and at WoV.

    2) Alternatively, can you show a proof of purchase for that RV, or some kind of proof that you are the registered owner?

    3) Did you or did you not pay with a players card when you did this trick?

    4) How many casinos did you do this at, and how often did you visit the same casino?

    5) You said in the video that you got a few $100k winners using this trick. If you were so worried about getting in trouble, which you seemed to be, why did you hit these machines for such high denomination wins, where the chance of them examining your play was higher?

With both Dan and Mike asking for proof, Rob could no longer just deflect. He had to do something and he got desperate and subsequently sloppy, with 3 different really bad attempts to show some sort of phony evidence. That is what the difference is now...It is just desperation at this point.

MaxPen, why are you trying to place mickeycrimm into the middle all of this? He is doing nothing more than just being a go-between messenger. When this is all settled "either way I could care less of the outcome, although I am rooting for Rob" mickeycrimm should not be held into account as any type of co-conspirator in any way shape or form.

It’s amazing that it keeps going on, but I’m glad it does because it makes for good entertainment.
Agreed that it's good entertainment. Plus, after this is over no one will ever be able to say Mickey doesn't know how to fall on a sword.

KJocchio, you are the gift that keeps on giving. Many, many years ago Rob wrote right here on VCT that he had an expensive RV. So it is not a new story. Rob offered to pay your expenses to go see it. And everyone here on the forum has an offer to go see it this fall in Phoenix. And Rob didn't say you couldn't get close to the RV. He said you couldn't get close to his wife and kids. I don't blame him for that. I wouldn't let losers like you around my family either.

One thing I’m confirming is I know a lot about Newells and it’s thanks to this site.

A couple weeks ago, I’d never heard of a Newell. I wouldn’t have known if it was a new animal species, some food dish, or a new planet someone discovered.

Now not only do I know what a Newell is, but I think I might know enough to be able to build one myself.

I learned that the Newell plant was in Miami, Oklahoma which is a town I used to spend a lot of time in because there's about 10 casinos around it. It's about 25 miles from Joplin, Missouri. The locals will be quick to tell you the name of the town is not pronounced My-Am-EE, it's pronounced My-Am-Uh.

I did some quick math to see how much Rob really made from the DUB, assuming his story is true, and he didn't cheat on his taxes. It sounds like most people think he claimed the entire $2.8 million on his taxes otherwise he could go to jail for tax fraud.

Again, there is no statue of limitations for out and out tax fraud, which is what would have happened if Rob he didn't claim the whole $2.8 million on his taxes. I copied a link in case people question this.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/alangas.../#574c3ee65842

So all of Rob's DUB earnings would be taxed at the highest tax bracket. As a rough estimate, this means about 40% of the $2.8 million would have been lost due to federal and state taxes. This means Rob would have been left with only about $1.7 million. Still a lot of money, but not that much when you consider it's over a 5 year time span.

And what does he do with it? He spends most of on a Newell, about $1.3 or $1.5 million depending on what story you believe. Does that make any sense?

People who buy a Newell are usually the super wealthy making like $10 million or more a year. They aren't people who scrape together a couple 100,000 a year playing some bug.

And during this time Rob was also buying houses for his kids. It sounds like he was spending more than he made, or he didn't claim all his winnings on his taxes.

I get this whole thing has been beaten to death, and is pretty much over, but even the math on what he did with his winnings doesn't add up.

Well there are some people who want that luxury motor home lifestyle and will spend, say, a half million on one versus buying a home. My cousin is that type of person and considered doing exactly that at one point in his life about twenty years ago - socking every nickel he had at that time into a motor home and giving up on a stationary existence. But by and large such people are going to buy a used one, for example that 2011 Newell that Rob claims he bought in 2013, for $1.3M is now worth less than a third of that.

If you don't want a house, like the motor home lifestyle, and you're a cash type person and somehow you accumulated five hundred grand I could see buying a used luxury motor home - whoever buys this 2011 Newell this fall that Rob owns is going to pay maybe four hundred K for it.

But just coming out of a bankruptcy as Rob had, and then supposedly getting together, as you point out, after taxes around $1.7M and then putting it all into a two year old motor home at practically full price does not compute, which is why I made my comparison to doing something like that, and Hooker's blowing the three grand he made off that grift in The Sting on one spin of a crooked roulette wheel.

Over all, given that I have now done a little reading on how Kane and Nestor unearthed the double up bug, and how quickly they were discovered and outed even for taking just a half million, I think the odds of anyone else both discovering this bug and taking advantage of it for years are very remote.

Consider also - if Rob really did unearth this bug and take advantage of it over years (which implies a very slow and drawn out take), saved most all of it and not spent it along the way - lot of IFs - and especially given his age, and that he had been through a bankruptcy, I'd think that he'd value money much greater than for him to just plop practically all he'd managed to scrape together into a motor home that he must have known would depreciate mightily.
