Thread: Wish I could change my handles (on a temporary)

    My temporary handle would be:

    Short version: Black Lies Matter

Long Version: Black Lies Matter but White Lies are Better

There is no “v” in my BLM temporary handle. It’s a pun folks, epigrammatically speaking. But there is a lot of truth to it.

A nice description of black lies (for self-interest purposes), white lies (out of compassion), and blue lies (the type Trump tells).

“ Children start to tell selfish lies at about age three, when they discover adults cannot read their minds: I didn’t steal that toy. Daddy said I could. He hit me first. At around age seven, they begin to tell white lies motivated by feelings of empathy and compassion: That’s a good drawing. I love socks for Christmas. You’re funny.

Blue lies are a different category altogether, simultaneously selfish and beneficial to others—but only to those who belong to your group. As University of Toronto psychologist Kang Lee explains, blue lies fall in between generous white lies and selfish “black” ones. “You can tell a blue lie against another group,” he says, which makes it simultaneously selfless and self-serving. “For example, you can lie about your team’s cheating in a game, which is antisocial but helps your team.”

An example of a black lie is: Mission146’s stating (without qualifications) he won’t “bother me again”. Mission146 is a liar because he “bother[ed] me again” with another e-mail.

Another black lie is when Mission146 stated: “ I was called, "Unctuous," apparently by someone under the assumption that I don't already know that.”

I don’t know Mission146’s education level, education history, etc. On what reasonable basis do I have to make an assumption what words Mission146 has in his vocabulary. You see how Mission146 likes to make black lies.

Here is a simple test to help discern low IQ from higher IQ people, respectively: low IQ people like to make assumptions [about the unknown] and higher IQ people like to ask the question: How do you know that is true?

So how did Mission146 **know** that I had made **an assumption** that he already knew the word “unctuous”? The answer is Mission146 made another black lie.

Was it a black lie when I owned your ass in that UX thread yesterday? You know, I tried to do it with grace, I really did-but you just wouldn't let me.

Like, I could have added just so much shit talk, and you'd have totally deserved it, as you are proving in this thread.

Also, even if I didn’t know the definition of the word, I would still know the definition applies to me.

    It doesn't matter.
Racism still exists in the year 2491.
    Buck Rogers already proved this.
    We all wanted Erin Gray.
