Thread: I'm beginning to think that the Second Stimulus Check is a HOAX.

Raise the tax rate to 90% on the rich. Then give the poor $1,000 a month. Yes, this is nothing new. The top income tax rate was 90% in the 1960's so nothing new.

Give to the poor huh? And what defines rich? Probably snag a lot of small business owners with that definition of "the rich".

They sure are generous with someone else's money.

Instead of being generous with someone else's money, why not pay down the debt before showering "the poor" with a $1000 a month.

At a 90% tax rate, how well do you think business and the economy would do?

    But, you're on the right track with that kind of thinking to buy more votes for sure. Hell, Old Joe just said some of the same;

"Biden Says $2,000 Checks Will "Go Out the Door" if Democrats Win in Georgia.

I guess that means tough shit if they lose. He only pays for winners.

I say kill off the poor and get rid of any taxes.

How about giving the very real poor a mule and 40 acres?

I guess that a homeless God fearing BLM Antifa member (with a wacky theory of everything) might just about set old MrV on fire.

I suppose folks who have grown up seeing nothing but homeless people in the community might not realize that it hasn't always been that way, making them unaware that things can be and once were different.

I grew up outside of NYC, a baby boomer, and I NEVER saw a homeless person in my town; it was simply unheard of in the suburbs.

Sure, I would see bums come up and try to wash your windshield in NYC, but they were bums, and they kept to the skid roads so all was well.

    What changed?

The proliferation of hard drugs fried so many folks that they just can't hold it together enough to maintain a job, a family, and pay bills.

Our shift in how to treat the mentally ill hurt; back in the day they were institutionalized, now it is pretty much all outpatient with no follow up to verify they're on their meds.

The Clean Air focus of the last fifty or so years has legislated the removal of most smokestack industries and with them the jobs once available; what now is an unskilled person to do, work wise?

The increasing unpopularity and near-death of the nuclear family contributed as well: in some cultures family sticks together and watches out for one another, but not here, not any more.

There are many factors which led to homelessness, and the homeless are the clearly defined LOSERS of modern day life; what should be done with and for them?

As a Libertarian I for one have no desire to use my taxes to subsidize them; I'd willingly pay if I thought the money spent would lead somewhere but simply feeding and housing these failures helps nobody, including them.

Stronger measures should be adopted to end the problem, which frankly is a blight and a black eye on America.

There used to be vagrancy laws.

Throwing money at it hasn't helped. Subsidization has just led to proliferation.

I like your mule idea. Maybe they can be shipped off to the Mojave where they can pull borax out of mines.

I envision something more along the lines of CCC, WPA and Job Corps.

The problem is coming up with work that needs to be done and which unskilled spare guys and gals can actually do.

We need to think outside the box on this: in addition to building and maintaining trails they could be used to clear dead brush from national forests to help mitigate the threat of wild fires.

Many (mostly women, I suspect) could be used to provide day care while other working Americans are at work.

Whatever, things need to get better: hopefully Uncle Joe and his cohorts can come up with something viable.

One has to wonder: if America is such a great place, a land of opportunity, why then do so many fail to try, to take advantage of it?

What is so bad in the USA that people need relief via meth, or heroin, or oxy?
    What, Me Worry?

Tasha, you did the right thing by voting for Biden. Tonight Biden is going to give a speech announcing another stimulus package with another $1,400 for all of us poor folks. He will pay for it by raising taxes on the rich like BoSox. Just think, another $700 for the casino and $700 to sock away. Be very proud that you took the high road and voted for Biden.

Here are all the goodies in the package. Oh, by the way, if you aren't already making $15 an hour he is going to give you a raise also.

I am glad you are having a lot of fun for the moment Mr. Midwest Player unfortunately the entire country "especially the very young" will have to pay the price for this progressive movement by left-wing nut jobs.

I voted for Biden when he announced that Kamala Harris was his running mate meaning she will be PRESIDENT if something happens to him.....

Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanantly banned.

For fun at the numerology forum, before the election, I thus speculated that the ordering of Presidents has to do with, what else, the numeral, 42. Ha.

Here's a thought about presidents. Perhaps, they alternate about the 42nd spot, the Clinton's as the spot "for two", then the Bush's at 41, and 43, and, then, Reagan at 40 to offset Obama at 44. Trump at 45 to offset Carter at 39. Will Biden at 46, if he wins, offset Ford at 38?
    Wasn't Ford a one-term President?

I visited the forum, for the first time in a while the other day, to see that they had anything on old Sheldon Adelson. Not much. They have too many ways to "calculate" things, so, they aren't forced into a craftsmanship with the basics.

Anyway, I noticed there that Trump's age, when he assumed office, was about 70 years, 7 months, and 7 days, for the old 777. This can be worked a bit to yield the better approximation down to about a second or two, at 70 years, 7.00007 months, 7 days and 7000 seconds, for the old 77777, barring a mistake or two, with the seconds, in my haste (not to spend much time on it).

I wouldn't call Biden a "left wing nut job:" he's an old school Democrat; he had to have Harris on his team in order to placate the leftist faction of the Democrats, but even Harris may not turn out to be as radical a libtard as, say, Bernie or Warren: after all she was a prosecuting attorney and then an attorney general, and they usually are pro-cop.

Biden is inheriting a bigger mess than Obama got stuck with: Republicans talk about thrift but they spend the nation's money like a drunken sailor, typically on defense.

The national debt is monstrous, and must be addressed: yes, there will be new and heavier taxes.

    The beat goes on ...

It is going to become very difficult for the new Senate majority leader Chuckey as he is going to be in a sorry state of mind in a few weeks as AOC is going to pressure him big time to help push her agenda or else. Meaning she will not have patience dealing with him and he knows it. All she has to do is imply that she is sick of him and that she may run against him for his Senate seat, a form of blackmail.

No, Bosox, "Blackmail is an act of coercion using the threat of revealing or publicizing either substantially true or false information about a person or people unless certain demands are met. It is often damaging information, and may be revealed to family members or associates rather than to the general public."

What is it with the so-called AP's, and the names of crimes?

Just found out from a News Source that there may be IRS trouble for people who received Stimulus Checks for dead Spouses. I remember Kewlj saying he received at least one Stimulus Check for his Deceased Spouse. Kewlj, please return that check back to the IRS ASAP if you haven't and no, this doesn't count as "Defending you," I'm just pointing this out since I JUST saw this news from a News Source like literally two minutes ago...
