Thread: Statistical Baccarat Analyzer

I've created a piece of software, free to anyone who wants a copy, to settle questions about getting the edge in baccarat. For entertainment purposes only, of course!

I am trying to figure out a way to upload this so that you can just download it from some server. For now, you'll have to contact me directly to get a copy.

What made you start putting out blog posts on your site a month ago?
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

I retired in October, 2017 and have not done any work for the industry since that time. That is not going to change.

What has changed is COVID's impact on my retirement plans. We were doing a lot of international travel, and I had a full schedule of volunteer work when we were home. All of that is gone, for now. So, to stay out of trouble I decided to do some projects again, temporarily, to keep me busy and out of trouble. It took me a long time to decide it was worth it to re-enter this world.

There is a different general theme this time, at least so far. I am quite done with doing AP analysis, besides, that high-powered Linux computer is long gone. I am also not creating products for casino clients of any type. The big gap in what I've done previously is calling out delusionals, frauds, con artists and hucksters by presenting facts about the basics of gambling in the most easily understood form I can imagine. Along the way, I get a few fun ideas, like the calculator above, and build that. In baccarat, the b.s. flows fast and free from the mouths of many miscreants -- so that is my first choice.

One of my volunteer activities was producing and directing TV shows for our local community access station. That got shut down with COVID. So I spent $1500 to build a mini home studio, these videos are being shot in my garage. The skills I learned from volunteering are very valuable and I am enjoying that part of this project.

For me, it's still about giving it away for free. I just want the b.s. to get called out with facts and I want folks to have access to tools to argue correctly.

The one thing that has changed just this week is that some of my SBPD volunteer work has returned. That may slow down my output a bit.

    Thanks for asking.

No matter how much you provide facts and math, ploppie gamblers will never change their minds. How many times have we heard in blackjack that the "casinos created basic strategy"?

Those systems gamblers are the casinos best and most profitable customers.

Yep, agree 100%. I recall playing next to a "structural engineer" one evening who complained mightily about my impact on the flow. Here is a man who uses statistics every day of his professional life, walking through the door was like putting on a dunce cap.

I recall going to a conference many years ago and seeing a "statistical baccarat analyzer" like the one I created being sold by a top company. I knew it was a triviality, but they were selling it for a boatload. Likewise, the apps in the Android store that do this are either malicious or expensive. And during my last chat someone said that a spreadsheet was out there that did this stuff, it's price was $1500. It should be free. Truth should not be hard to get. Whether people know what it means is not relevant, what is important is that it is available.

I'm curious as to why 99.73% of the time the game is either baccarat or roulette. Where are the Mississippi Stud systems con men?

It's actually a good joke, and worthy of some thought.

I'm guessing it has to do with no strategy, one of two choices (red/black, even/odd, Player/Banker), progression systems galore and the only games that have history totems. I think if we reduced roulette to three spots, red, black and green with each paying even money they still wouldn't get it.

Having to learn some form of basic strategy is beyond what most are willing to put into it. BJ and MS both require too much work to layer another betting system on top. These betting systems people are born to look for a shortcut that doesn't exist.

By request, added the Panda 8 side bet and the NC version associated with the Dragon 7 bet.

I think I figured out a way to make it downloadable while I await a better solution. I put it on my Google Drive and got a sharable link.

Could someone try this and see if it works?

If I remember correctly, Alan had some sort of system in craps that was "profitable" for him because it kept him from finding an marrying yet another wife who eventually would throw him out because he was such a degenerate gambler. That one dumb bimbo that he married at a Caesar's craps table was somehow embedded into his system.

What are the chances of reverse-engineering a system of that caliber so that other flippity-flops like him wouldn't have to wait 18 straight centuries to finally get something right?

Funny stuff, Rob. I only wish it were possible. But delusion is not an easily curable condition. The Dunning-Kruger effect comes to mind.
