    Nope.

The grinder/hoagie/sub is called a hero in some areas around NYC (but not in NJ).

Gyros are Greek lamb sandwiches on pita bread...totally different than a hero.
All basically the same thing but I enjoy the difference in the cultural names.
    Sort of like Dumplings.
Every Culture has their own take on a dumpling or stuffed pocket.

Gyros are really good if you find good Shawarma!

I don't disbelieve you, so I have no need to contact that author. The individual that I spoke to (who definitely participated in the DUB) might just not remember that the article had the mistake intentionally...he recalls that there IS an inaccuracy, so that's what is relevant. After all, the WIRED article was published in 2014, so that's a pretty specific thing whether the inaccuracy is intentional or not.
One could probably get one of those machines with the glitched software for not much money nowadays. I'm too lazy to seek one out, however, if I knew where there was one for sale, I would probably buy it, assuming the price was reasonable. IIRC some dude on WOV claimed to have one. I'm a bit skeptical since he said he only wanted to use the bug when he hit a RF or something wacky like that.

For a second I thought Mickey had some sort of education but then I realize he also doesn't know how to pronounce gyro. He actually had me double-check myself. There is no h sound in the proper pronunciation of gyro.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

And it's pronounced yeero for the Gyro if we are talking about the Greek food. I know this since its one of my favorite things to eat and I have been schooled on pronouncing it wrong a few times at some authentic Greek places many years ago. gIrO seems to be acceptable and it's even been adapted in some areas.

I always get the lamb and not the beef. I like to add a small amount of ground crushed red pepper to my Gyro. I'll add other stuff too, but you guys might think I'm crazy, I like a small amount of ranch and ketchup on top of the tzatziki sauce. The ketchup kind of tones down the heat from the red pepper and the ranch just gives it extra flavor. Tiffany's, that little famous dive over near the stratosphere surprisingly actually made a really good Gyro back in the day, they packed on the meat and you couldn't beat the price. Freemont street used to have a Greek place with really good Gyros(that's one of the places I was schooled on the correct pronunciation). This is making me hungry, time to order a Gyro for dinner.

p.s. Gyro Time in Vegas sucks IMO. POP'S FOR Philly steak sandwiches and other various items is super delicious.

I suppose you buy your booze at the Packy, and drink water from the bubbler?
Bubbler yes, packy no, I have heard people call it that but would've guessed it's more universal slang.
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

When I first moved to Vegas and was looking for a decent cheesesteak, about the best I could find was Capriottis. Pretty generic, but better than most places and much better than those mall type locations that call themselves Philly cheesesteak. The Capriotti guy was from Delaware so he had a Phila area connection. While it was good for Vegas, it really was a C+ at best.

Then someone told me about POP's. Decatur and Alta, I think, maybe Charleston. Right up the street from AZ Charlie Decatur. O-M-G. POP's cheesesteaks! Like being back in Philly. Pop was a South Philly guy and flies in the Amoroso Rolls from South Philly. Everyone knows a good roll is half the deal with a cheesesteak and Amoroso Rolls are the best. I don't know how they are fresh being flown from Philly, but they are.

Haven't been there is a while, but ya know....maybe tomorrow.

Which cheese did you prefer on your cheesesteak when you were in Philly: cheeze whiz or real cheese?

Glad they have great cheesesteaks near me: the owner is from Philly, he uses Amoroso bread and of course he sells Tastykakes.

I do miss pork roll and scrapple.

I do not like cheeze whiz. I know that is a REAL Philly thing. Maybe that is the part of me that is only a Philly transplant, rather than a native, but I like real cheese. I also was never a fan of either Geno's or Pat's. During my time in Philly, Tony Luke's had sort of become the unofficial king of cheesesteaks, and they were pretty good, but for my money, my favorite cheesesteak came from a place in the Olde City section of Philadelphia called Nick's Roast Beef. Obviously known for their Roast Beef, but I think they had the best cheesesteaks in Philly as well.

I have never had scrapple. The owner of the bar I used to hang out at on Friday and Saturday nights, used to drive me home after closing and we always stopped at a local diner for breakfast where he ordered scrapple. I was repulsed. I used to tell him it was all the garbage, fried up. That is what you are eating....fried garbage.

You need to back this assertion up with facts, not speculation. Name the "many people" that "seemed to have this knowledge."

This is classic KJochio using innuendo instead of facts. We all know he can't name a single individual that "seemed to have this knowledge." Back to the drawing board, KJochio.

    Two quick Philly anecdotes.

One day I visited my mom at her place of employment in the heart of south Philadelphia.

We went for a short walk; all the buildings were row houses, brick and stone IIRC; one row house looked different from all the rest, the facing was different than the others.

The Wise Guys bombed him: nobody fucked with Bruno and Scarfo, and I do mean NOBODY.

I went one icey cold New Years morning to watch the most incredible yet relatively unknown (to outsiders) event: the Mummers Parade.

A video is worth a thousand words for those unfamiliar with the string bands, unique to Philadelphia and the immediate environs:

    What, Me Worry?

No, I don't HAVE to name anyone. YOU don't make the rules. And more importantly you don't want to hear it and won't accept anything I have to say.

    But I will....again.

For starters the two guys credited with playing the double up bug, Nestor and Kane. And anyone that they may have shared it with, maybe even an associate that played the play. These two idiots couldn't keep their mouths shut. Who knows how many people they told or how many those people told and so on and so on.

Next the author of the story. If you speak with the guy as I did, you understand that he was told the proper sequence, but they chose to not publish the proper sequence. Probably legal concerns over liability.

Next, any of the people that investigated the play.

Next, people that worked for the company that made the machines.

Next, maybe some casino people, surveillance, and security that looked into the situation.

Next attorney's that represented both sides.

Next, after the story was published, there was no doubt AP's and players went out searching for left over machines that hadn't received the "patch" or fix. You find a machine, it wouldn't take long to figure the sequence, not for someone specifically looking for that angle.

Next, similarly to people looking for left over machines in a casino setting, there were surely people looking to purchase machines of the right time period to figure out for themselves at their home, just as Axelwolf said he would have had an interest in, if the price was right. I believe Rob even talked about owning or having access to machines during different periods. Not sure if the time period matches up.

So it is not just 1 or 2 people that would have known about the sequence, especially after the story broke. IF Rob was able to come up with the correct sequence, after the fact, there are many, many places that info could have came from. And remember, we are talking about a guy who went into an RV dealership posing as a customer to take pictures and claim the RV at the dealership was his. This is relevant because it shows the lengths he will go to as part of his trolls.....which this is!

But really none of that even matters. Only two things now matter.

1.) Rob tied owning the RV to the double up bug. No one else did that.....he did that. He said that is where the money went and he clearly didn't own the RV. No RV. No Double up bug!

2.) whether it is fair or not, people knew Rob's real identity. He also did THAT. And that means anyone that wanted to could have looked into it. And Rob's finances at no time lined up with this claim. He owns no property, lives off modest social security and his kids. Has little money. He lived in a trailer park (in his Winnebago, not Newell) at just the time he would have been making millions off this claim and and was on food stamps and kicked off the program at just that same time.

You are not an idiot Mickey Crimm, stop playing one.

Per the usual you have not named one source....much less tied a source to Rob. All you have is conjecture. That and one dollar will get you a cup of coffee at McDonalds. Get back to me when you can name a source. I won't hold my breath.

EXTRA provolone please. Oddly enough, I like mayo on my Philly steak. Hell, if it has extra provolone and mayo, that's really all I need to be content. Sometimes, I can't finish my pops Philly steak so I'll save it for later. I pop it in the oven and get a really nice toasted bun, but it can get a little dry, so I wip up some Au Jus for dipping and go to town.

I did order my Gyro last night and it was delicious.
