I'm ambivalent about kewlj but the fact that he can't have one person vouch for him as an actual legit person is sorta LOL. As far as blackjack knowledge goes I can legitimately vouch for KJ. He has posted on blackjack sites for at least 12 to 15 years where the best in the business has participated. On those sites, it is impossible to bullshit your way through it by fooling people. You would be eaten alive and completely embarrassed, you either understand what is going on, or you don't. Those that do not understand for the most part just read and learn.

Now regarding KJ not wanting to meet people, at his age I do not blame him. He has possibly two or more decades to play if he wants, and it is not in his best interest to be recognized often. Plus he was beaten and robbed previously.

Pertaining to me, My time playing seriously is starting to wind down and this makes my situation different from KJ. I am no longer that concerned about being barred as I play pretty much wide open now without game camouflage. When I do play I take it very seriously although I no longer need to play, I do it because I can. I have met plenty of players on the east coast who I previously networked with on a private site. I would enjoy meeting some of the members here and having dinner with them, as I suddenly have plenty of spare time.

I don't see too many problems with meeting people. You can sorta see who is sane and would be worth knowing and who isn't. Yes, you can lump everyone on a forum together but you're sorta missing out. You're also a little overly scared of life. I mean, just meeting someone in person .. unless you think the other person is going to out you, requires no more danger playing bj. Them outing you is not likely if all you're doing is counting. Pointing another counter out might be useful in that it isn't obvious when you correlate your bets together but really it is a bit of a stretch to be so concerned (Maybe other reasons I can't think of). Just seems like if you put so much effort into being known and knowing people on forums via these interactions, then naturally you'd have met a few over the past 12 to 15 years. Las Vegas isn't that big... It is just odd. I really have no clue but I find his story odd. I guess they all post elsewhere. Not like this forum is center of gambling universe. Only in regards to double-up bugs and Newells.

The other thing is that it is a different time, it really is. I know some of the older guys in their 60's and 70's now met up with players from the forums. Forums had meetups, like the green chip party at BJ21 and blackchip party before that. Guys on those forums were legit blackjack enthusiasts. Some recreational, some professional, some in between. But I don't think their were anti-BJ or anti-APers like their are now. Not to mention some casino folks that may infiltrate. Dan Druff believes there are some casino folks that read this little site. So you could go to a forum meetup, or just meet a couple guys privately with much less risk than today. And I am talking risk to your career, not health.

Just look at the moses situation I dealt with. Moses was supposedly an AP. Supposedly on my side. And yet he tried to get info on me. I guess he did get info, because he showed up at my home. He threatened to take pictures of my and distribute them to casinos and blackjack pits around Las Vegas. I mean this is what you are dealing with Today on the forums.

Now the machine guys are an entirely different breed. These are guys that have been chasing the same plays, fighting off each other since back in the days when there was ONLY las Vegas and Reno. So over times some of them came to know each other whether they meant to or not. But still I go back to the Monet/ Axelwolf meet up. If you are just meeting to socialize, you run the risk of someone turning on you like Monet has done. Why bother? For what?

It is true that I don't particularly care to meet anyone off this forum however I can't understand how you post so much then ask "Why bother? For what?" when asked about meeting anyone.

You can make up all the arguments of what-ifs but after someone has been posting for a few years one should have some idea who they're dealing with.

If you're serious about making money there is often a significant advantage to some sort of team approach. I've helped my most serious AP friend make 1000s I assume he wouldn't have made otherwise. He's gotten me some free rooms and shared some meals at the nicest restaurant in the joint.
