Is there some reason why NHL totals are usually odd-numbered?

I only needed 3 (odd number) days to figure it out. It's because overtime games always end on an odd number. Yes, it seems obvious now.

I'm gonna make this really simple for anyone that cares.
You can follow a lot of stats and hem and haw, but you really only need one.
That stat is what is the record of your team when they score first and how many goals do they usually win by when scoring first?
When you bet the NHL, IMO, you should be betting on the team that has a high chance of scoring first.
Especially when betting the Puck Line and IMO you should usually be betting on the Puck Line that will give you +150 or better.
I find that the +175 Puck Line is usually set wrong, and I like to hammer it.

Rather than render a personal opinion, I will once again quote court testimony from the (first) trial of the late, great Mike Stockunas. When his assistant was placed on the stand, the prosecuting attorney asked him to explain under oath what kinds of bets he took over the phone for Stockunas. The assistant answered that the majority of the bets were parlays. The assistant DA then asked if the witness could explain to the jury what a parlay was. "Sure," Stockunas' assistant said, clearing his throat, "it's a really stupid bet." Which brought loud laughter in the courtroom and the judge had to hit the gavel and order some order.

That's not to say there aren't rare opportunities when parlays can be a good bet, but for reasons having nothing to do with parlays. For example, one offshore of which I'm aware, grades your rebates on the basis of number and types of bets. Since the size of the bets is not a factor, it makes sense to bet a boatload of $10 parlays as a way to boost your profile from 1/2 percent rebate straight play disciplined gambler to 1 to 2 percent rebate degenerate idiot. In that context, it makes a lot of sense to inundate them with a couple hundred $10 parlays if your actual straight wagers are generally $1000 or more.

All you have to do to understand this stuff is request a sports "slot" club payout card from Boyd. You can see that they are begging you to bet parlays. I'm sure monet is aware of the way Boyd scales their cashback for the parlay players. Boyd is not doing that for the players' benefit. LOL.

And once again I will mention that Shackleford's "parlay calculator" was the most oxymoronic "edge" one could ever get. I can't believe they were actually pushing that at WoV. Some offshores are so generous that they are now providing customers with parlay calculators gratis. Again, I'm sure that's for the customers' benefit.

Not that it matters but I have lived in Vegas for over 30 years.
I've been doing this since I was 7 years old.
I've been making bets in Casinos since I was 16.
I know a lot of people working in many Casinos, many of them are hosts.
Some of them are actual family.
You can still negotiate rebates.
I beat parlays on a yearly basis.

I went 3 out of 4 today as the Yanks got crushed.

NHL odds are still the best play for parlays.

Well, if this doesn't impress you and everyone else on this site... nothing will.
I go to the book to bet the 3 teamer and use the kiosk to go under the radar, you know.
So, for some reason I confuse the Angels for Arizona, and I take a long time because the odds are all fucked up.
Anyways, I end up betting the Angels on the money line at +176.
I figure this out at lunch by myself when I recheck the tickets.
$4.99 for a Coke is Fooking Ridiculous but at least it is endless Coca-Cola.
And it's comped, so there is that.
I could have gone back and asked to void all my tickets and put the Diamondbacks on them but Fuck That.
