Looking at the 9 games played, the Flyers won 4 of their first 5. A very nice start. Now they have lost 3 of 4 including 2 overtime losses.
Last year just weeks into the season, I was in Phila area for a couple weeks. I have some friends who are diehard Flyers fans. Not even that big Phillies or Eagles fans, just live and breathe Flyers. And last year, the Flyers also got off to a very decent start and both these guys were in their glory, insisting the Flyers were contenders for the first time in forever. Long about Christmas the Flyers were in their usual spot and were eliminated from playoffs with months remaining in the season.
So I am just wondering, is there anything that really points to a Flyers improvement this year or did they just win a couple games in the first week before teams and players have really gotten into shape?
