What can Las Vegas do to remain popular, relevant and unique, given the large number of other gambling venues now available?

They'll need more than high end night clubs and pool parties or else they'll be left in the dust, like Reno.

Tradeshows and conventions need to come back. Until that happens Vegas is in survival mode. Right now, the only thing they can do is focus on being a value oriented gambling destination provider. Have to lure people in with exceptional value.

Trade shows and conventions bring in hotel and restaurant junkies but they don't bring in gamblers. And that is what LV needs but will never see again on a pre-covid level.

LV won't fall apart completely but it's day has come. Comparing it to Reno is a mistake. Reno has never tried to be big-time, whereas LV has tried and succeeded but now the holders-on are in panic mode as they just can't handle the truth. The sooner they come to grips with LV succumbing to other destinations including Indian Casinos closer to home, the slower they'll be swallowed up by insanity.

I would assume it is something most forum members would care about, given the subject matter of this forum is Las Vegas.

Informed readers will know that Las Vegas has in fact "reinvented itself" on several prior occasions in order to remain viable; can they do it again?

Slow down. Who's attacking whom? And, what's wrong with a question or two to try to "set the table"? Why should I waste(?) my time to try to answer your question? At the serious professional forums, at least the math and physics ones, your question would have been down voted, to no end, and, then, similarly mocked in the comments sections, because you, yourself, didn't make even the slightest effort to try to answer it. Pshaw, quality begets quality.

Anyway, does it matter that LV survives? What greater good, ever, came of it? Honestly, I don't know. Any great politicians, scientists, and so on, from and because of LV? Would the gullible have come to it, in droves, no matter what it seemed to, and will do, to itself? Will the long-term trapped car exhaust, and water-shortages finish the place off? Whose job is it to try to figure out all of this, and more? Does it deserve salvation? Looks like they have already been totally reckless, irresponsible, and desperate, for some time.

I had a similar thread about Las Vegas possibly being done due to Coronavirus that was also quickly bashed then went nowhere quickly after that.

The problem with Vegas is that it is no longer one of only TWO places where you can Gamble in a Casino. It used to be ONLY Las Vegas and Atlantic City that had Casinos in the ENTIRE U.S. Now MOST States have at least one Casino where you can Gamble in. You no longer have to travel to either Nevada or New Jersey to gamble in a Casino. Las Vegas could try to focus on Nightclubs, Comedy and Magic Shows etc, but many people have said they no longer feel comfortable with going to Nightclubs, Comedy Shows, Magic Shows, etc after The Coronavirus Outbreak. MAYBE Las Vegas can focus on those shows after The Vaccine is widely distributed and The Coronavirus becomes more like The Flu/Cold than something really terrifying.

Actually, the same thing over, and over.

Once you've seen one of MrV's lines, and images, songs, and movies, well, I think, you've seen them all. The talk of killing frogs or whatever out behind his house, the fried skinned cats, and so on. And, bits of the almost endless banter between him, and LarryS.

I'm glad that I don't just "get it", try to go down the pretty "rabbit holes" that most "think" they must. That wouldn't be nearly so much fun as trying to learn something from watching them try, and, MrV thinking that he's accomplished something of value. I guess, when you just "think" that you are at the top - a hell of a laugh, in MrV's case - there seems no room for improvement, etc, so, no reason to try.

My Website was getting bombarded with people writing nasty things about me. I was deleting those nasty things constantly. I ended up making a tough Admin decision to stop those nasty things... Let's just say, I didn't read the fine print completely, and.... Not only did the nasty things stop,.... My tough Admin decision meant that NO new posts could be made either. :/ But the bright side is there are no more nasty things being said about me and I no longer have to delete posts. I decided to remove my link to my website on here and put a question directly for Wizard.
