Thread: Shared Household Numbers

  1. #1
Since some people seem to have no clue regarding current demographic living arrangements in the U.S. and abroad:

    1) In Muslim nations, more than 75% of adults 35 or younger live with their parents.
    2) In Italy and Greece, more than 70% of adults younger than 30 live with their parents.
    3) In the U.S., the number is more than 50% of those younger than 30 living with parents.
    4) Canada has the lowest shared household number for adults under 30 -- about 30%.
    5) Older people moving in with their children has become relatively common in the U.S.
    6) Young adults living with parents and older parents residing with children in the U.S. has resulted in more than 30% of all households being "shared."

All of these numbers, which anyone can verify easily, will be exacerbated by the pandemic, so will be higher when next surveyed.

My suspicion is that many people who are adamant about the horrors of shared households have elderly parents who they would rather see in nursing homes rather than in shared spaces.

Interesting stats, that's a radical difference since the 80s early 90s when kids left mostly on there own accord or forced out between the ages of 16-19. Those numbers are a lot higher then I expected.

I'm pretty certain most of us on this site don't give a shit about demographic living arrangements in the U.S. and abroad.

So then, to keep the subject matter of this thread "Las Vegas-related, I assume that when Muslims, Greeks and Italians visit Las Vegas with their parents they are more likely to share a room with them than Canadians would share with their parents?
    What, Me Worry?

Interesting post Red. I thought that you had given up on the place. It seems that most non Trump supporters or mask wearers have moved on. Do you read PFA? Their disputes are witty and debates get brownie points for including facts. I'm probably way too PC for them, but you'd probably do well.

Agreed Redietz political views would fit perfectly over there. You gotta give guys like Mickey and "Desertrunner" credit, there severely outnumbered, dealing with complete irrational trash like SOBCHAK et al. It's a solid 5 to 1 ratio, Left vs Right. Some of the lefts are rational and reasonable, many are not. I've been tempted to join in the mix, but I don't want to dedicate several hours a week, back in forth with several irrational numbskulls. Once I get started, it will be to big of a time bandit. I enjoy reading the action, from the sidelines instead.

Yeah, stick to wasting those dedicated hours of yours here, and at the casinos. In any event, I think that Red is way too smart to fall for any of it.

Now I think that men gossiping is way worse.
Every one /everyone knows it all; yet, no thing /nothing is truly known by any one /anyone. Similarly, the suckers think that they win, but, the house always wins, unless to hand out an even worse beating.
