Watching America being dealt a hand with "no Trump" did him in.

Sounds like a case of too much Republican excitement "on the end".

Shut it down, tableplay. ---> Buttplay, with AdelS.on

No doubt, TP is another "proud" Republican.

Did you miss your meds this morning ? I stated than an individual involved in the gaming industry was dead - how you got an opinion out of that plain statement is anyone's guess.

I miss them, every morning. Oh, except for the occasional vitamins. Are vitamins med's?

Anyway, how it works: plain statements lead to other things. Funny, sometimes, how things can go no other way from there.

    Adelson's legacy is complicated.

The simpleton will deride him as evil because he was a staunch Trump supporter, or because he was a strong opponent of online poker.

Truthfully, Adelson was a man of strong convictions, and would literally put his money where his mouth was. He was a big believer in Israel, and put a lot of money behind political candidates who were pro-Israel, including Trump. He mainly backed Republicans, but he also funded pro-Israel Democrats, so that issue was more important to him than political party.

Regarding online poker, while I strongly disagreed with him, he opposed it for philosophical, not business reasons. Many poker pros dismissed it as greed, but that wasn't what was going on here.

He also had a program which paid for young American Jews to visit Israel.

I think he was somewhat misunderstood, though he was also stubborn and extremely set in his ways.

I'm banned from Venetian/Palazzo, by the way. Unjustly. I don't blame him, though.

Basically he spent millions of dollars on bribery.

There was a California legislator that played poker in the big cardrooms of LA. He said Adelson told him that if he supported online poker in California he would give one million dollars to his opponent in the next election.

I wonder what effect this will have on the LVRJ, which Sheldon bought five years ago?

Smart move, buying and controlling the one big paper in town to make sure he and his ventures no longer get bad press.

A hard worker and a serial entrepreneur, Sheldon masterfully played his cards in business.

He was by far the largest donor to Trump.

Yes, masterful greed, and societal carnage. He got in on even the Trump lunacy.

That's what we call bribery in layman's terms.

The layman must be a step or two ahead of you. How about coercion as a threat?

Anyway, just noticed something else, about his name, itself. A German word, for endless.
