Thread: Free Speech

The first half of this podcast is pretty good.
The second half is basically a full on rant about how Orange Man is Bad.
The point is that banning so called Hate Speech or Speech that you don't like is a bad idea.
The full podcasts are no longer uploaded to Youtube so you have to get Spotify for that.
I still give respect to Dan Druff for the way he handles this forum.

Totally agree on how Druff runs both forums for the most part. He got to do something about that " DESERTRUNNER" though

https://podtail.com/en/podcast/the-joe-rogan-experience (not hot off the press, but pretty close [for example: https://podtail.com/en/podcast/the-j...95-ira-glasser ] and no sign up).

To be fair, Desert Runner is pretty normal and only posts sporadically.....Edit. I was right. Desert Runner posted only 73 times in four years. To contrast, on another Website, I posted 384 times in just two months before getting the boot....

Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanantly banned.

Smart is knowing a Tomato is a fruit.

Wise is knowing a Tomato doesn't belong in a fruit salad.

I am glad to get my full posting rights back! Thank you Dan!

    Thanks.
Youtube has had a few people upload them but they get banned after 5 to 10 days.
Spotify isn't too bad even though many people complain about it.
Not sure why they haven't synced video to Smart TVs yet.
    Guess they are busy.
I'll throw it on when I'm doing whatever around the house and listen.
Since he moved to Spotify his guests haven't been as good.
It's currently at about 50/50 for me.
I also find that after about an hour in they get redundant which actually saves the listener time as they can move to the next form of entertainment of their choice.

My belief on why it is so popular is because many of us grew up with Talk Radio and Shock Radio.
Talk Radio is a thing of the past for the most part and so is Shock Radio.
This thing they call long form sort of emulates Talk or Shock Radio without all the sarcasm and yelling.
Personally, I miss all the phone callers and Radio Talk Hosts belittling them.
I found that sort of thing highly entertaining back in the 70s through the 90s.

I used to listen to this very late night Radio Talk program on AM radio when I grew up.
This program was very tame and serious.
No hanging up on people and calling them names.
I can't remember the name but it was on KDKA.
Seems that many people were up from 1am to 4am to call in and talk.
This program along with Dr. Demento and just radio in general made me sleep through many classes in elementary school.
I was always amazed that if you sat near the back and put your head down you rarely had any teacher interference.
Turns out that it wasn't that hard to get passing grades while sleeping through the material.
I'm sure that is more so on an individual experience and not a general statistic.
I did have some years where I would take these national tests and just fill in C for every answer lol.
I did that on the SATs after about the first 10 minutes of sheer boredom.
I had some asshole, yuppie economics teacher stop me in the hall once in 11th grade.
This guy thought he was some sort of a college professor at a High School.
Kind of humorous looking back on it.
He was asking me what I was going to do with my life or for a living.
I told him, I'm going to marry some rich girl and gamble.
It sort of happened that way.
Not exactly but along those lines.

The ending theme music to that radio show was the best...
