Thread: Derek Tikkuri's and Zachary Hubbard's gematria stuff is a crock

  1. #1
The purpose of this thread is another link to warn, the more-gullible among us, away from potential scams to do with gematria, which is the age-old art or fun-interest in converting words, and phrases, to numerical values given various ciphers or sets of numerical values assigned to the letters of the alphabet.

Firstly, anyone can do it. No one cipher is any better than any other. And, so, there can be no proficiency at it, because, well, there never was any intended further revelatory connection between numerals and words. An expert's such findings can not mean any more than a novice's. However, the more such "connections" are sought out, then the more that will be found by random chance alone. Refer specifically to the "Birthday Paradox" to begin to realize generally how deceptively easy it is, empirically, to similarly find seemingly many far-fetched "connections" between seemingly few words, or phrases, and, numerals. And, to see the methods, and tricks, involved with going beyond even the "Birthday Paradox" result. (As an aside, doing so beats the heck out of, say, thinking and writing about, driving to and from, and, sitting in, for hours, the casinos.) The greatest danger here, I guess, is that people, very easily, might begin to overly believe in their very own ability to divine or dowse such "things". However, there isn't the least bit of real, in theory, or actual, in practice, proof of any gematria "connections" to anything real or actual. Not even of the thus "connections" between simple words, and phrases, and, past events.

Secondly, anyone who could, supposedly, consistently and explicitly predict outcomes such as sports, the news, and lotteries on any given day, wouldn't be thus "running" around, their whole lives, for relatively small sums of money from insignificant Gofundme campaigns, private forum fees, donations for very simple on-line calculators, and the like. Supposedly, then they, and their dearest, trusted family members, would have made a few choice bets to retire to a life of quiet luxury and, maybe, some true fulfillment. But, again, then anyone could, however, immediately, thus use even simple gematria to make such "predictions". In jest, it seems that the so-called modern guru's of gematria just want to make the world a better place by leading wholly deprived, ascetic lives of hardship by thus needlessly grinding out garbage books to nowhere, moderating miserable, sterile internet forums of a handful of active posters, and, hosting desperate Gofundme campaigns, all the while sheepishly soliciting donations for no meaningful contributions to the existing knowledge and understanding of gematria. Perhaps, the best way to "suck" people into such further nonsense is to host on-line gematria calculators with many of the usual, simple ciphers, etc, but, go on to introduce links to all manner of paid and other more-direct involvement.

Thirdly, anyone can make a mistake. But, as far as I can tell, there being zero mathematicians or other scientific professionals to do with any form of gematria - the older, Biblical form, or, the newer, nutty, conspiratorial form - well, it's easy to imagine a myriad of thus inherent technical mistakes underlying the gematria stuff that was already out there. Contradictions, outright fudging, etc, right down to clear and obvious mistakes with how even date-distances are calculated. I was promptly banned, from the Gematrinator.com and another such forum, for merely pointing out a rather simple problem with Derek's date-distance calculator, which isn't based on the true or exact number of days in a year, which is neither 365, 366, nor an even 365.25 days. A year is really and actually about 365.242189 days long. It's called, specifically, a solar, tropical, or true year. A common year has 365 days, and, a calendar year has either 365, or 366 days, but, neither year is meant to be an exact measure. Those serve as only convenient or approximate conventions to keep track of years, months & days. (Similar to the notion that it is noon when the sun is at its highest daily point in the sky, but, not when a clock says it is noon. Clocks, too, on a daily rather than yearly basis, provide only approximate times based some convenient convention.) Goes to show that many posters at the Gematrinator.com forum unwittingly came to believe in such "connections", to many, many things, of a bunch of nonsensical numerals that weren't even the correct ones, to begin with. And, especially, to show that neither Derek nor Zachary could thus "foresee" even their own basic technical gematria blunders. But, hey, what a relief that they weren't smart enough to pose too much "danger" to too many others. Same old Trump mentality of calling dissenters, plants positioned there by the feds to disrupt their truth-mission activities. Of course, there are many more real and actual problems than the above ones with gematria, and the other such methods of "inspection", including the anagram stuff.

For fun I point out to which the title of this thread thus "translates" with instead the use of an anagram solver, which, later on, I found to be a more-interesting such "tool", in terms of directly and quickly going from words to words. Instead of from words to their thus "corresponding" numerals, and, then, back to other words with similar or the same thus "corresponding" numerals.

Have some fun with it, as I did here and there, but, don't take any of it too seriously. It's fun to play around with letters and numerals, in recreational ways which, every now and then, unexpectedly give way to other, legitimate ways of looking them. Certainly, don't pay some nut like Derek, or Zachary, to show you how to waste a lot of time and effort over it without even beginning a careful study of it.

A couple of Derek Tikkuri's latest bits of junk.

Now the guy thinks that he's some sort of god, or something. Total, 100% loonie tunes.

The other day, someone posted up one of Zachary Hubbard's very own bits of junk. He was trying to predict bitcoin, but, on a YouTube channel worth $17,000, given an estimated daily earning of only about $29 a day, based on the number of viewers.
