Thread: Slot machines because they're in Las Vegas

    This is a very meh article but it might be interesting enough for here.

    I don't think the no cash thing will ever take off. Not entirely sure but I can't see why people would want that. I see places getting away from cash because then you only have to worry about employees stealing ingredients lol. My guess is it would only be an additional feature. I guess it would add to one's safety in terms of losing their cash or winnings via robbery or what not.

    Some bean counter probably wanted to duplicate the success which resulted when chips were required instead of cash at table games: people seem more likely to feel less emotionally attached to chips as opposed to their currency and as a result more likely to risk it in the heat of gambling.

    Anything that can be done to insulate or camouflage the pain of loss helps the casinos, and arranging things so that actual currency is not bet helps to do just that, psychologically.

    Me, I never have warmed up to and do not play the new games; hello, old school.

    This is an interesting take and makes sense to me. I'm old school and hate places not allowing cash. I tend to purposefully avoid them if I can and not give them business.
