Thread: Playiing once through....

I would like a fresh topic here and hope this is worthy. I can't really get into all the argumentative stuff. I've had some success at taking the mail comps and playing them once thru. What would be wrong-using quarters as an example- and going to different machines and playing, say $20 thru once?

Nothing wrong at all. It's your money to do with as you wish and as long as you're comfortable with it, by all means.

There is nothing wrong with playing through your "free play" once. Except... eventually the free play will disappear. It might take the casino marketing department three months or six months to adjust your offers with your play, but they will catch up to you.

It is possible that they will continue to send you "come on in" offers of five dollars or ten dollars but unless you are within walking distance are you really going to get in your car or hop a bus for $5 of free play?

I used to get very attractive offers from a particular casino for upwards of $1,000 a month... then I got cut back about the same time I started to win big there including two royals in three months plus other big wins on $5 video poker. About a year ago they cut me back to $100 a month, and I went in just to "play through" their free play offer. They caught on to what I was doing, and the new offer that came in the mail last week is for $30.

You can work the system all you want, just be aware that the system is working you just as hard.

And Alan is right about the freeplay slowly disappearing and/or drying up - as it has done for me in numerous places. However, that should be of no concern if you play vp because when you play for the slot club benefits you are playing right into the casino's hands. The proper way to approach all that stuff is just go into play for whatever reason you're in there for, then if and when the offers/gifts/freeplay comes, scoop it up if that's what you want to do. It remains amazing to me how many players--and it is probably all of them but me--are so enthralled by what their slot card renders when they should only care about if they make money PLAYING. Remember, the "free stuff" is rarely "free" to the vast majority of players, but no matter how many times I repeat that and no matter how often I tell others even to their faces, the only thing that matters to them is how high a temperature their blood begins to boil and how much their hands start sweating as the offers arrive. ADVANTAGE: casinos.

Welcome to the world of green stamps. I never did understand those things. I think it has to do with the whole concept of work and being rewarded and the gold stars bestowed when we were kids.

It's funny you mention Green Stamps. When I was a kid, our gas station gave out S&H Green Stamps. And the "better customers" were allowed to buy the whole books of green stamps at the dealer's price. How do you think I got my Kodak Brownie Camera so quickly? LOL
