Thread: Report: Caesars LV properties have sparse security on floors right now, security guards unhappy with hours

Here's a tip from someone within Caesars, which was sent to me today:

The security department officers are not happy with the present forced 4-day workweeks, which are in 12, 12, 8, and 8 hr shifts.

    The day shifts are 7am - 7 pm, 11 am - 7 pm. Night shifts are 7pm-7am, and 11 pm-7 am.

Coverage on the casino floors is sparse to say the least, and they aren't hiring full time security officers. Morale is low at the moment.
I'lll agree that working mandatory 12 hour shifts twice per week has to suck.

I would think many people would enjoy 3 days off a week, still getting their 40 hours. Especially if they are 3 days in a row, almost a mini vacation.

And many people in many retail situations such as restaurants work 12 hour days, along with 50+ hour work weeks.

While I don’t know the details of why morale is low, this to me seems like the classic example of First World Problems. Odds are, they will live. And also I believe they are certainly able to leave and find other employment on their 3 days off a week.

When I was in my early mid 20s before AP I worked 7 on 7 off, 12 hour shifts i loved it. Its not for everybody most guys couldn't hack it, but it gives you ample time to do things during your whole week off. I was young and had no shortage of energy I could rebound right away after an 84 hour work week. I wouldn't do it at this stage of my life, even with ample energy for my age not needing to bust my balls anymore. It was a great start to build my initial bankroll to get the ball rolling, not having to " play in fear " of busting out like so many others.

3 days off each week, while still getting 40 hours sounds pretty good to me. But what do I know as I have less than 3 years of working fulltime (for someone else).

When I was 18 and 19, I didn't even have my 2 days off back to back. When I finally got my 2 days off together, I thought I was moving up in the world.

Working on your feet twelve hours a day must be a real drag.

12 hour shifts aren’t the problem with that schedule as I see it; it’s 12 and 8 hour shifts combined in the same week. Make it 4 10’s, 3 12’s with possibility of a 4th 12 every 2-3 weeks fine. I suppose 4 10’s not possible with 24 hour coverage needed.

12’s and 8’s in the same week is like trying to imagine the most fucked up erratic scheduling possible and implement it. If you’re self employed and choose to do so that’s entirely different. It also makes it extremely difficult on an employee who would want to find an additional part time job to supplement.

Anyways, yeah it’s first world problems it’s also a good way to push your employees with options out the door, but perhaps that’s what they’re going for.

Since we are talking about shitty jobs, I still feel sympathy for any customer service employee who has to interact with Druff.

I combined peas for like two months in the summer early 20’s; 12+ hours 6-7 days a week for like 8 weeks straight and then you’re done. No time to spend the money and then plenty of time off afterwards, was exhausting though
