Yes but most commonly it happens when I hit a jackpot and the machine locks up.

I leave to either find an attendant or use the restroom while I wait for an attendant & when I come back often there is some fool trying to cash out the credits on the locked up machine.

The credit thieves walk around looking at credit meters for abandoned money and typically when u hit a jackpot it displays this amount in the total credits so when these guys walk by and see thousands on a machine with no one around, they think they made a huge score.

Its very entertaining to watch them from afar doing everything they can to try to cash the credits out. It’s also somewhat entertaining to walk back to the machine and say “Excuse me I waiting for a handpay on this machine” and see what they say. It’s usually something along the lines of “A bla! Ablawblawblawblaw!”

I was playing a slot in one of the sketchier mid-strip joints and got up to briefly look at something, leaving my card and credits in the machine.

Less than 20 seconds later I returned and saw a bum-type POS white guy was sitting in my seat preparing to play.

I told him it was my money, that I'd just stepped away; he tried to tell me it was his but when I yelled for Security the thieving rascal ran out of the joint like his pants were on fire.

I remember someone saying something like,"I had to suddenly pee REALLY bad while playing on a Slot. I ran to the bathroom, peed, and then I realized I left $100 in my Slot. When I came back, some guy was playing on that Slot. I told him off for playing a Machine that already had my money in it. He claimed that all the money in there was his money.
