I've heard Golden Nugget, Stratosphere, Bellagio, Ceasars Palace, Aria, Jerry's Nugget, are REALLY good Casinos. When I was Kentry on WOV, I mentioned Aria Casino from time to time despite never playing there. I just liked the sound of it. It's a beautiful name. .... What are your favorite Las Vegas Casinos, past or Present?

Edit. Title should have read,"Are," not "Is," and Casinos, not Casino. I noticed the mistakes about a second after I pressed,"Post,"

Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanantly banned.

Smart is knowing a Tomato is a fruit.

Wise is knowing a Tomato doesn't belong in a fruit salad.

I am glad to get my full posting rights back! Thank you Dan!

No real favorite, but we usually stay at MGM.

The "most memorable" has to be the now defunct Western.

    Good grief, what a bum-fest!

Okay, where was this? I don't remember it, but if it had food like that, I'm sure I checked it out.

It was kind of across the street from Stardust in a strip center that I think was called Fashion Square back then. South of the El Morocco, another fine establishment. In those days we found all the cheap food joints including the warehouse Buffet at Stardust--all the grease you could eat for $3.95.

My friend still has an old fun book from Mr. Sy's, or at least what remains of it after we used up a bunch of the coupons.

Here are the casinos that were where the Bonanza gift shop is.

Was the CBS Sports World casino located where Mr Sy’s was? I think it’s shopping now near Taco El Gordo.

Here are a couple more that show the entire Bonanza property including the current sign. And an adult book store on the property.

The article you linked to had a shill at Mr. Sy's saying:

""It’s to get people to come in and play," explained Christiansen. "You iet there and play and they see you winning all that money, because our machines were set up to win more."

    Huh?

The shill's comment says the machines had frequent wins; but to make them so frequent so as to have passersby hear / see the coins dropping would require the machines to pay off so frequently that the house would have no edge.

Was it just the one machine the shill sat at that was juiced this way, and if so were others than the shill allowed to play it?

They could just take the machine out of service when no shill.

This story answered my question. CBS Sports World casino was located at 3049 LVB, which is the same address as the Kimchi Korean BBQ place mentioned in the linked article. I barely remember and never entered Sports World but did see it on a trip to The ‘Ho and Stardust many years ago.

Not much info on CBS but here are some chips.

I have been in there quite a few times, and IIRC for a short time it was a pool hall for a while, I can't say 100% that it was that exact same building, but the poolhall was back there in that corner somewhere. I was friends with a few of the change girls and cocktail waitresses at work and we would go hang out shoot some pool have a few drinks after work from time to time.

CBS Sports World actully had some good coupons available, I'm not sure where you got the coupons anymore, but I believe they were in some publication. The basic gist of the coupon was that it was considered a two(2) in Blackack that you could use as your hit card, E.g. turn your 19 into a 21. They allowed you to bet up to $500. I remember one session where I was trying to use the coupon "in the perfect situation" and I blasted off like 7k.
