Now you know this is contradictory to what you always say. It is NOT about money won or lost. It is about banking EV, so you can go into a financial officers office and show him or her how much EV you "bank", in order that they may give you a mortgage loan. According to the one and only kew, lenders are super impressed with all EV bankers. That way they can be sure there'll be plenty of income coming in down the road to pay the bill.
Did I get this part of your story wrong??
Of course you got that part of the facts wrong. You always do.
Do you really not understand about expected value? You are a long time gambler, tried to be an AP. Please tell me you are just funning us, with your expected value ignorance.
No one is giving anything on expected value. But actual results will line up with expected value. It might not be today. (I lost $6k today vs EV of +170). It might not be tormorrow, or next week, or even next month. But when you get to the long-term, and there can be dabate on just what constitutes longterm, but when you get to the long term, results will line up will expected value. And that is what I was able to show to mortage company....my actual results for a number of years.
You also conveniently leave out that I did put substantial downpayment for both mortgages that I got.
Anything else you need me to clear up for you?
Just how the hell are new players who often play with extremely limited bankrolls supposed to understand that expected value will eventually "whenever that may be, ask ZenKing" even out and protect short-term losses?
On another note, much of the material that you do provide is to a very small limited market for someone living as well as playing in the Vegas area. What blackjack knowledge you do provide to the very few new players who do ask you is exactly as you already said is general knowledge. This generalized information is already readily available in dozens of books and found everywhere on the internet. The argument that you often make that you are giving back what you previously received is rather foolish. When you started out, people learning about sites like Wong's often stumbled across it by accident. Times are different today and information is easy to find. The point is this general info that you provide very few individuals amounts to nothing more than spoon-feeding a couple of lazy bastards.
So Kewlj started this thread with the hopes of drawing another long time BJ player he had many conversations with in the past on many different forums. Kewlj expected BoSox to join these conversations in support of his endless fantasies. So, he starts this thread with “I miss THIS BoSox!”
BoSox responds with this quote “I admit that I was late to the game of figuring you out.”
Of course, Kewlj in shock and embarrassed responds:
Quote: “Bosox, you have basically turned into Blackhole. That is what you have become. You are hating for some unknown reaason. You are even making some of the same points. And that really is about the saddest thing I have encountered in a long time.”
In other words, all you have to do is disagree with this fool and regardless of all your past conversations and knowledge of BJ, you’re thrown into Kewlj’s troll pool. No wonder Kewlj gets thrown off of every forum he tries to push his Houdini fantasies on.
This is how a caught fish behaves flapping around in a boat out of the water.
"protect against short term losses"? Who the hell ever said that. THAT is not what EV is or does. You need a substanial bankroll to protect against short term losses.
The rest of what you said is just not correct. I live in Las Vegas so of course my experiences and the things I do and have set uip my plan of attack are for that. But many things apply to other areas. Short sessions for example. In this day and age with "crummy" (I think that was the word Don used the other day, that he and I had a laugh about) games, everyone short be playing short sessions and one of those exit triggers should be exiting at least some of the negative counts. With these crummy games, no one should be using the old play all approach where you just sit and play through all that crap. The good counts are too infrequent for that. Granted it is a little harder if you play a location that you drive to and nothing else is close. But even bathroom breaaks, phony phone calls, allow for exiting at least some negative counts.
Additionally, chip inventories to help play unrated can be used if you only have one or two casinos nearby. Works even better as you have less funds tied up in chip inventory. And if you have to play rated, and only have 1 or 2 local casinos, a little ratholing is even more mandatory to acheive longevity.
Does everything apply? No of course not, but most things still apply and the ones that don't well everyone has to customize what works for their own circumstances. I assume that goes without saying.
Look, BoSox, you are now one of those guys that just wants to fight and argue with me. I don't know what your issue is, but just let it go. I am not your enemy.
I see the hole, posted something. can't see what it is. Don't want to see what it is. Who the fuck even caares what it is. like everything else he posts, it won't be useful to a single person.
Warning to all members:
Be careful in what information that you may provide to Kewlj in private messages. He is so self-centered that he may inadvertently use it in other forums.
And Bosox, I see you didn't answer where I pointed out that many others share some money figures as part of their participation. Not necessarily what they make a year, but some do, but what they make on plays and sportsbets, and contests and stuff. The point being Gambling is about money. You don't talk gambling on a gambling forum without getting into dollars.
Cheap shot. No surprise. I did not reveal what you said in a private message. I simply said the amounts you were talking surprised me. Moses inferred that you were a professional player and I said, I don't even know if you are or were or what and based on those numbers, had even more doubt. If you want to share that, I welcome the information. If you don't want to that is fine too.
I am not going to keep going with you Bosox. I don't know what your problem is all of the sudden, but it seems to be YOUR problem not mine.
No sir, I am NOT going to go searching through your 19,500 posts at WoV and 2163 here. But I am certain you have discussed plays and locking up machines for hours and what you ended up making. That type of thing. Not saying you ever said what you make annually, but you have discussed plays and money. Gambling is about money.[/QUOTE] I may have given a roundabout number and given some details about a play that's long gone and I'm almost certain it won't be back. I doubt I have ever said exactly what I made on any specific play. I have said what something was worth per hour.
You are the one who always uses the term expected value all the time in what is too many of your posts to mention. That is your method or stick. Do you not think that a newer player could misconstrue your words and intent of what you are saying resulting in having a false sense of security? If you do not you must have your head up your ass. For example in post #23 in a response to R Singer you wrote:
Right there in the above quote, a beginning player may in fact get crossed up with the true meaning.

Just stop BoSox. I am NOT running a school, seminar or bootcamp for new players. I am sharing some of my experiences of my play and how I play. If a new player doesn't understand a term like EV, they better damn well look it up and figure it out if they want to have any success. I am not holding anyone's hand through every step of blackjack 101.
BoSox, you really need to let go of whatever this bug up your ass is. You are acting JUST like blackhole, or one of the other bitter, angry old dudes trolling me. You are litterally following me from forum to forum trolling me now, like some others. Sunday night all your posts were at WoV, where I was posting when you hadn't posted much there recently. Yesterday, whan I was suspended and switched here, you switched here, not even posting at WoV, only posting where I was posting literally trolling.
Any one can see it. Every one of your posts is trying to discredit me now. You are obsessed with me now for some odd, unexplained reason. And you are even getting angry in some of your posts with me now, just like the angry, bitter trolls? What are you getting angry about? Because you don't like how a fellow player goes about posting?
There is something else going on here, but whatever it is, let it go.
