Thread: Time to Clean Up the Forum

  1. #1
I post with my actual name, so I really cannot be associated with a forum where a primary poster is remarking about another poster's spouse and Depends on so on. Taking part in discussions with these kinds of comments makes me sick, and does me real harm in the real world, so I'll take a sabbatical from this place.

For the record, my mother, uncle, and aunt all suffered from MS and spent a good chunk of their lives as quadraplegics. There is nothing demeaning about being ill or wearing Depends or being handicapped. Anyone saying such a thing in my presence, to anybody, would get an immediate response, and that response would not be verbal.

Alan, I hope you step back and review who says what and clean things up. You really can't afford to be associated with these kinds of comments, either.

Yeah=people matter. I haven't responded to those posts because I wouldn't want anyone to know those kind of people had control over my life.

I am also offended by such comments and there is no place for them here. I think I am guilty in giving a little more leeway than I should have. In the past I have removed and edited out the worst of them.

My mother died of MS. I was on kidney dialysis before I was blessed with a transplant. I wouldn't poke fun at anyone's disabilities.

Ain't the Internet FUN! It is if you use it for your own entertainment and it isn't a controlling factor in your lives! Poking fun at those who ask for it is all part of the game folks. If you must feel it's a requirement to somehow associate the "pokes"--which DO have their desired effects BTW, as can be ascertained by the respondent namecalling--then I suggest you simply close your eyes and the feeling will pass - just as it does if you can't handle the forces at IMAX.

    And good luck with it!

I think Internet forums are the "cocktail party" of the 21st Century. Where we meet and chat. We do it over keyboards instead of Tom Collins and Vodka Tonics. You wouldn't say certain things at a cocktail party... why say them on a discussion Forum?

I think you misunderstand something. Everything I say on a forum I'd absolutely say to the person's face, whether in a casino, at a cocktail party, or on a boat. In fact, I do believe to this day that is the reason why Jean Scott got her facelift-- a week after she met with me for the first time. Some contortions are just too difficult to simply shake off.

But anyway, I'm off to the Hard Rock today for a training session. This is a fellow who brings twenty grand every time he plays, and he wants some expert advice that has no pricetag attached. I've given everyone here the opportunity of a video poker lifetime to go out and be a better player while having a much better understanding of how the machines operate. People who want to win and who want to shake their addiction to the game will heed those words. Others, who use the game as a crutch to have something to do when they have nothing meaningful left in their lives because they allowed the game to get out of control for themself and the poor Missus....well, it's really game over for them, and rightfully so.

I prefer to share what the rest of this wonderful world has to offer with my wife as we grow old gracefully with one another, and am very thankful that I don't have to look back at vp having been a big mistake in my life as most regular players really do. THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN VIDEO POKER, unless you are my good buddy up in beautiful Minnesota!

And don't think I don't appreciate it! I'm just thankful to have gotten it for free and not have to deal with all the aforementioned things on this post. I guess you have earned the right to be an a**hole.

Congrats on being just as rude in real life as you are on in chat forums.

    Impressive.
