Thread: What exactly is a Vulture in Gambling?

  1. #1
I heard a Vulture is someone who will wait for a Ploppy to get a bunch of Multipliers on an Ultimate X Machine, and then trick them off of it and play it themselves and win big money. A guy admitted he did exactly that, claiming that there was another Slot Machine that had given out 5 Jackpots just that day. The Ploppy fell for this ,"Good advice," and got up and went to the "Jackpot machine." The guy sat down, played the Ploppy's Multipliers, and won big money. Mission said that this is not really what a Vulture is. I am confused. Isn't someone who tricks someone off a good play what a Vulture is? :/

Vultures will steal your fried chicken while you are engrossed with the machine symbols.
God bless this forum. You people are precious.

A vulture is someone who targets machines that have something left behind by other players that adds extra value to them while they play. Some guys will stand back and wait quietly for a player to leave hoping they will leave the machine the current or better juicy state.

A vulture may use trickery, but that's not the norm, most AP's/ vultures don't like those people who pull stunts like that.

Thank you for the in depth explanation! I agree with you that tricking someone off a good play isn't cool.... :/ Waiting for someone to leave on their own is much better. I remember someone saying that someone left on spin 9 out of spin 10 on Scarab and the guy was like,"What was this Player thinking leaving on Spin 9 out of Spin 10 on Scarab (On Spin 10, any wilds you accumulated during the first 9 spins show up randomly on Spin 10. You can either win BIG, or you can literally win less than a dollar
I (Tasha) have won big for the ratio to the bet, $52 on a .75 bet, and I have won my bet back, .75 on the 10th spin. It's a gamble on the 10th spin.

NOBODY said that. Other than you talking to yourself.

Another LIE from you. Itís gets old calling you out on your lies everyday. But someone has to do it.

Kentry was the best out of the 60 give or take socks/dupes she had. Dean was the 2nd best out of the pile.

Kentry was technically not a Sock. Kentry was my original Account on WOV. Boz mentioned the Haircut thing... I was pretending to be a guy when I was Kentry, so I claimed it was my Haircut money that I gambled away. It was actually my Hair Wash and set I money that I was supposed to get done at a salon. It was still hair related.

I posted my Gambling Trips as Kentry. It was so long ago that I was playing literal pennies and got excited over a $5 or $10 win, although I won $90 on a one penny bet. The Top Symbol multiplied the second top symbol. The Second symbol was worth $6 by himself, and the Top Symbol multiplied it by 15 times, winning me $90. Even People who made fun of me for playing literal pennies were like,"$90 is actually a very phenomenal hit on just a penny bet." Dean Sock was used to make fun of Kentry.... The Device I used for Dean ended up breaking and I forgot the Account information.

Dean was a regular Member until I confessed as Kentry that Dean was my Sock and Dean was banned despite being a Regular Member for years before I confessed that Dean was a Sock. I didn't remember the Account information anyways, so it was really no big loss to me. I as Kentry was like,"I am not Luscioussweet2, I am Dean. At the time, I was trying hard to keep the Luscioussweet2 Username, and I even went so far to throw my own Socks under the bus in order to keep the Luscioussweet2 Account. I as Luscioussweet2, threw my Nathan and Kentry Accounts under the bus when I was being accused of being a Nathan and Kentry Sock. I posted proof that Nathan and Kentry were the same person in order to save the Luscioussweet2 Account. That was some Level 100 deception I was pulling.

I was banned as Kentry after admitting I lost money on a bad Casino Session. Every or at least MOST Gamblers loses money on bad Casino Sessions. I lost $250 on a bad Casino Session (I had decided to not play literal pennies at that time and was playing like $1 a spin. Those Slots were REALLY tight that day) and I was thrown out the door like yesterday's trash, but someone else admitted he lost $1,000 in a bad Casino Session and all that happened was he got replies of,"That sucks, better luck next time," and he wasn't banned despite losing 5 times more than I did.

If the 10th spin doesn't have enough wilds it's a gamble for sure, however, there are many configurations that are the opposite of a gamble and you are guaranteed to make money. Whatever the case, you really need to stop with the... " I remember someone saying" or "I read somewhere" etc.

    IT'S SUPER ANNOYING!

And, quit trying to be and say everything you are not, like sounding smart, trying too hard to be taken as a serious poster(that ship has sailed). People see right through that BS and highly dislike you for it.

I would tell you to just be yourself, but I'm afraid all this craziness you pull... is you being yourself.

Just try to be what most people think is normal.

I remember getting a TWO week Suspension on WOV for miscalculating the coin in needed to get a Progressive when a Newbie asked how much coin in he needed in order to get a Progressive that looked like it was about $400 away. I replied "4,000-8,000, coin in, thinking I gave him GOOD advice, and I was dragged and ragged on, and I was told,,"You ACTUALLY need more like $100,000 coin in to get that Progressive, not only $4,000-8,000.

I was told I gave the Newbie bad Progressive Advice, and someone was like, "I REALLY hope this Newbie doesn't take Nathan's horrible Progressive Advice and play only $4,000-8,000 coin in and expect to get that Progressive. Nathan is Suspended for two weeks for giving a Newbie bad Progressive Advice." About 12 Posters "Liked," the post that Suspended me. Some of those Posters who "Liked," the thread Suspending me were actually nice to me and vice versa.

Someone was like," Nathan's awful Progressive coin in Advice was unacceptable and she shouldn't have said that. " I was STUNNED. I thought I gave him GOOD Progressive Advice. The Newbie although he did thank me was like,"I thought Nathan's Coin in advice was REALLY optimistic, but I didn't want to say it to Nathan because I didn't want to upset a Long Time Member as a Newbie." Actually smart thinking.

In fact, here is the copy and paste quote.

Hi folks, I'm a new member and making an attempt at being a neophyte (i.e. caveman), AP player. I have found all the information you have shared on this thread fascinating and very informative. Thank you for that! I was checking out my local casino here in NY for possible must pay, progressive slot plays and I stumbled upon this machine made by Aristocrat called the "Double Bliss Jackpot". I've read many of your extensive analysis of various WMS and Ainsworth machines, but I haven't seen any mention of Aristocrat's machines. Does anybody have any experience or insights into their Slots? Is there a difference in how the "old school" stepper machines play relative to the new video based machines? Thanks to all the detailed explanations so kindly provided by mamat and Mission146, I think I have the math and calculations down, I was just wondering if these machines have any pitfalls or other quirks that make them playable or unplayable?
Minor Jackpot $1058.23 Must Pay by $1199, Major Jackpot $15,696.11 Must Pay by $15,999.
Thank you in advance for any insight you might like to share!
    Here is my answer.

A word of advice. You will have to play like $4,000-$8,000 coin in before you hit that Major.
Here is a post questioning my Coin in Progressive Advice.

Can you show the work that led you to this conclusion? If you can't, you probably should use number in your replies anymore.
    Here is my answer.

Multiple Forum Posters have said that they dropped $4,000-8,000 before The Progressive hit on Jackpots that look like they are only about $400 away.
Here is the post informing me I was Suspended for giving bad Progressive Advice.

He is not now online, but he thanked Nathan, and has not replied to any attempts at corrections. This is completely unacceptable.

Sigh. Ok, I and others have warned Nathan numerous times about doing this. It hasn't stuck. For all we know, narwhal is now sitting in front of that machine throwing hundred dollar bills into it, chasing that major, thinking he got useful advice because it came from this site. When he crashes and burns, what does he say to everybody about the advice he got here?

14 days for trolling with unsuitable misinformation about the primary purpose of this forum and website, which is to give ACCURATE MATH-BASED ADVICE on machines, table games, and other forms of gambling.

Even a disclaimer about her lack of expertise with her advice would have been suitable warning, and part of a useful discussion. But instead, she posts as if she's an expert, to a new member who doesn't know she just throws spaghetti at the wall on these things. And as a member for several years now, with a couple thousand posts, she is able to present herself to the unwary as a knowledgable member. That severely cuts into the credibility of these sites, its members, and especially the Wizard.

If anyone doesn't know this, all the questions from WizardofOdds, not just WizardofVegas, are directed here, to this forum. WizardofOdds is arguably THE authority worldwide for casino games, and the folks here who have the skills to accurately assess these things are a major (and treasured) asset.

Sorry so long a post, but I think I had to explain my decision in some detail. I will be asking the other mods to review it.
Here is more ragging and dragging of me .

Hi and welcome to the forum. Rest assured that the criticism was wholly directed at Nathan, who has been repeatedly warned about pretending to have anything helpful to contribute, in ways that are dangerously reckless. Nathan (female, by the way) is absolutely not the font of all wisdom. Nathan's behavior was so unacceptable. She did (frequently does) a grave disservice to this forum and it's skilled and generous members.
I was VERY STUNNED to be ragged and dragged and then Suspended for two weeks when I was merely trying to help out a Newbie and thought I was giving GOOD Progressive Advice.

The ones that trick ploppies off machines when they are in advantage mode are called creators.

I'm thinking to be a creator not only do you have to trick people off the machine's you need to trick them into pumping them up. I think the word creator came from creating an advantageous situation?

Nick the Sick was the best I ever seen. He had a gift of gab and steered little old ladies onto games to pump them up then steered them off while an agent sat close by to spin it off. Nick was a degenerate crackhead.

I have heard of a game called Green Stamps or something. Is that the same as the Multipliers? :/

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say Multipliers, I assume UX. It's only the same in terms of the fact that value can be banked up to an advantageous state.

Green Stamps adds a small amount to the bank as you play and hit certain symbols (collect green stamps in order to fill your coupon book) as you play, it's a many spin cycle before it's a positive situation. UX is set up in a manner where each hand you play has the potential to create a positive situation on the next hand given that half your 10 coin bet is being rolled into the opportunity to earn Multipliers for the next hand.

There are very few green stamps left. I can still hear the green staps bonus round song in my head...

Thatís right, most creators trick someone into building up the advantage too, but if they see something already at an advantage they will also try to trick people off as the pumping up part is already done so itís less work for them.

Either way they are creating the play by getting the person off the machine.

The worst are the ones who donít shower and when they see a ploppy on something at an advantage they sit next to them hoping their offensive odor will stink the ploppy off the machine. Sometimes they also blow smoke in their face or start coughing violently.

Boomtown (Verdi, Nevada, just west of Reno on highway 80) might still have it. In any case, that is the last place I saw it.
