Absolutely, if you believe the reported numbers don’t lie. It’s the unvaccinated getting it far worse and being hospitalized.
As for the vaccinated still spreading it, there is nothing you can do other than locking down 100% and no one is in favor of that. Ok maybe a few crazies still out there. That’s why I believe we all had it or will get it. No way I haven’t been in contact with someone who has had it but with no symptoms how would I know, or should I even care? As I’ve said multiple times I never changed my life, nor will I. I flew 70k miles last year, just hit 80k this year and a plane is the only place I wear a mask. I’ve been to 2 NFL games in 2 cities the first weeks of the city with 70,000+ others with few masks. I go to bars, restaurants, stores, parks etc on a daily basis here in Florida and in mask free states around the country. I’m sure I’ve been in contact with someone who has it. Making my first trip back to Nevada soon since they put the mask mandate back in. I’ll have to see how far I can push carrying a drink in the casinos but I know I’ll probably have to wear one sometime. My local bar in NV was fine under the last mandate if you had a beer playing VP without a mask so I’m assuming it’s the same.
But at what point does one stop living their life? If one stopped doing things they enjoy they lost 18 months of their they will never get back.
Nice of you to think of me again kew but how often you get a cold, a headache, sore balls, or Covid doesn't interest me. You and others are quick to politicize the vaccine as well as babble on about inaccurate statistics pouring out of a fully biased government, but the real reason vaccinated and unvaccinated people get Covid is due to an unhealthy lifestyle. You people INVITE the virus into your bodies. Do you dine out, and if so do you sanitize your hands after going thru the menus, using the salt and pepper shakers etc.? If you get water or any drink, do you always use unopened straws or carefully wipe the inside and outside rims first? When you gas your vehicle, do you always use a paper towel so as not to touch any part of the handle? It's all about being and staying aware of what you touch and if your hands go around your face. And people with weakened immune systems are very susceptible to just about any virus.
As I've said, my wife and I travel and go to restaurants, bars, casinos and other gatherings in a big way, and we've had no problems with this virus at all. I'm not above agreeing with max on this, because I too trust what my body already has in the way of warding off these things. Similarly, the ONLY people I know who are falling ill to Covid are fully vaccinated. Putting an unknown and haphazardly tested "concoction" (another use for this word) into my body isn't gonna cut it for me. If I had any sort of pre-existing conditions then I'd probably get it. Same thing if I were Cam Newton and it meant the difference between zero income and multiple millions.
And no, I'm not hoping that you suffer from this. I believe you suffer enough without it.
Get well soon.
Well Robert, I thank you for the "get well soon" even as insincere as I suspect it is. Wiping down utensils and menus and salt and pepper shakers, good advice as that is, can I ask you do you wipe down your food? I mean if the person preparing your food has covid, wiping down utensils isn't going to prevent much. Anyway, I sincerely wish you and the Mrs continued good health and good luck in avoiding Covid. But I don't think it works the way you think it does. Covid is not discriminating. There are plenty of people that think they are very healthy and invincible that have paid a high price....especially in this last wave. YOUR people, meaning people that think and talked just like you are. Anyway.
Changing gears, there is something I want to say publicly about and to someone. I received a very nice email from Eliot (teliot) Jacobson this evening wishing me well. Getting to know Eliot just a very little bit from just a very few private exchanges, it has become clear to me that he is a very decent person. I know he does a lot of volunteer work that he doesn't talk about and he just seems like a good guy.
I have been very hard on Eliot for a number of years, mostly running with things I had heard and opinions of others. I tend to draw lines in the sand when it comes to APing of 'us' vs 'them'. I placed Eliot in the 'them' without bothering to look into it for myself and like I said, was pretty hard on him with all the "traitor" comments. So I do want to apologize publicly to Eliot. Even if he chose to consult and work with the casino industry at times, and I am not saying he did or didn't, so what? I have a very good friend that works as a pit manager at a fairly high level at a strip casino. People are people. And it has become clear to me Eliot is a pretty good egg.
Not sure you understood: Covid is a risk. If you play the percentages you lessen the probability. We can't control what touches our food before being served and we have nothing to do with whether or not an infected employee (a good bet is that most or all employees are not infected) coughs or sneezes on our food (again, a good bet they do not because they all wear masks), but we CAN control that which we touch after unknowns have touched the same items before us. And then, it is up to us to keep our hands away from our faces.
If you care, vaccinated or unvaccinated, you lower your probability of infection. I won't wear a mask where I'm not required to, but I like that so many others still do. A well-placed sneeze or an uncovered cough nearby can be an unnerving thing. Most people don't care who does what around them. I always have, and I take the right steps if it does happen. I stopped flying in the early 2000's, which after accumulating million-mile status on 3 airlines around the world, I highly attribute to hardly ever being sick since. I've gone thru malaria and pneumonia and the various flus that travel thru airplane cabins. Maybe now my system is hardened.
You could say I'm an AP at this kew, and like my gambling career, I'm way ahead. Of course, anything could happen at anytime, but odds are it won't.

Is he dead yet?
There are all kinds of things one can do outside as well. I have many side projects I can't even keep up with.
IMO had we actually locked it down properly in the first place we could have had it under control. Or perhaps not since that would have had to be a global thing or heavily restricted travel. It seems as if we are never going to end this from what we are doing now.
That's probably correct. A 90-120 day lockdown, mandatory vaccination with medical exemptions, contact tracing like South Korea, New Zealand, or China, and heavily restricted international travel. Likely would have solved it in three months.
But that would have slowed down commerce, and we can't have that.
Michael Osterholm, who has gotten virtually everything about this pandemic correct, likened what we are trying to do, solve a pandemic via vaccination without shutting down, to "painting a train going 180 miles an hour."
Somebody on this forum has, from the beginning, gotten virtually everything about this pandemic correct. If you don't believe me, go back and read my posts to the pandemic beginnings or check out my blog. Compare what I wrote and predicted to what was posted by the gentlemen above.
The gentlemen above are why you have somewhere between 700,000 and a million dead Americans and counting. South Korea has one-seventh the population of the U.S. and 2500 deaths. I kept thinking it was a misprint, but no. Not a misprint. So if the U.S. were as effective as South Korea, there would be 18,000 U.S. deaths instead of 700,000+. Australia has about 1300 deaths due to Covid with a population of 26 million, or 1/14th the population of the U.S. So if the U.S. were as effective as Australia, the U.S. would have, yeah, about 18,000 Covid deaths, not 700,000+.
Canada has 37 million people and roughly 28,000 Covid deaths, which isn't good, but about one-third the death rate of the U.S.
Final note, and this is not about Covid itself. When asked when the next Covid-like pandemic is likely to occur, the head of the South Korea Infectious Disease Institute said he expected a new one to roll down the pike in four or five years.
The question is whether Americans will have learned anything from Covid. I'd say probably not.
Good riddance to those 700,000-1,000,000 weaklings. The earth is over populated anyway.
And the Biden $3.4 trillion "infrastructure" bill will cost, as he claims, zero dollars....
This is what you get from lying libtards. Those number of US "Covid deaths" are not 700,000 people who died FROM covid--they're people who died of many different causes WITH Covid. It's all part of the liberals' plan to try and scare people into letting them control everyone.
My wife's father passed away in August 2020. He was 93 years old and he had been deteriorating with Alzheimer's. While in hospice he suddenly tested positive for Covid. He died as expected. His death certificate says: Cause of Death: COVID. We tried to get it changed to the reason he was put into hospice--Alzheimer's--but the liberal machine went bonkers over his family's efforts. We walked away from it because it wasn't worth the time, which is exactly how they want you to see it.
You certainly have never been to S. Korea or Australia, so I'll splain a little something to you. We highly inflate our numbers here solely for political purposes; those countries do not. They also only have a couple of large cities each, and within those cities there are no comparable slum areas like we have in every one of our bigger cities. Here, those cities are solidly run and controlled by democrats, and Covid is rampant among their slums, their homeless, their drug users, and overall among those who live like rats in their numerous projects etc.
So although being disingenuous is a way of life for people like you, your twisting and spinning of the facts is not any more effective than the daily bs that comes out of Jen Psaki's mouth.
