Thread: This happened once in Vegas, and may never happen again.

The photo from March 10, 2006: proof that everything can happen in Vegas once. In my case -- wedding at a craps table, with a Rabbi. At Caesars Palace. And after a few minutes a hush fell over the crowded casino as gamblers started to figure out -- and as word spread -- that a wedding was going on.

And when I broke the glass, following tradition, at the end of the ceremony, the entire Palace casino broke out into a giant "Mazel Tov."

As Jimmy Wike -- then the casino boss -- told me later: "it was the best thing we ever did." I have a photo of him shocked at the exact moment that the casino patrons belted out "Mazel Tov." The look on his face is amazing!

Nothing like this has happened again. And the table is still there.

A few months ago I was at the table and a floorman came over to me and said "Alan, back at your lucky table!"

I didn't say "yes" or even acknowledge what he said. Instead, I looked at him with a quizzical look on my face. Well, he must have wondered why I didn't agree that this was my "lucky table." He looked down at my left hand to see that I was wearing my wedding ring.

And then he said, "this is the table where you got married, isn't it?"

"Oh yes," I answered, "this is the table. But my lucky table is over there. (I pointed to the crowded table near the slot area.) It was too crowded for me."
