It's possible we stayed there at the same time. There was an incident with a shooter targeting vehicles on the highway nearby. The shooter was staying at Budget Suites.
That particular Budget Suites had a spacious good-looking main lobby. Overall, I think it was the best and safest Budget Suites in the city. The walking distance to the Stardust was a main factor in my staying there. Back then, numbers did not move at all properties simultaneously. Usually, most books moved numbers due to money at their place, not other places. The Stardust, because of their confidence in their numbers and relatively large limits, were often the last to move a number. So if you were a bit slow in getting a particular number that was gone most places, you could skedaddle from the Budget Suites right to the Stardust and catch it. The Stardust was kind of on a short but consistent time delay. Also very helpful in shooting for middles, obviously.
