A former Nevada sex worker is speaking out against the industry saying prostitution leads to sex trafficking. The woman joined a lawsuit with two other former sex workers along with a national advocacy group, suing the state.

Angela Williams says she was groomed in Texas and lured to Las Vegas as an escort.

“I had an understanding that I was going to be providing illicit services to six buyers however they glamorized it. They made it seem a little bit more appealing than the brothels,” Williams said.

She said that escort service turned into prostitution. Williams said she was sex trafficked in Nevada from 2006 to 2017. She worked for Jamal Rashid. He’s servicing a federal prison term for operating a prostitution businesses disguised as a Las Vegas escort enterprise.

“There (were) intimidations, they were situations where there was mass manipulation. I was completely controlled financially and coerced and broken down to believe that what I was doing was completely normal,” Williams said.

Williams and two other unnamed women, along with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation filed a lawsuit in September against Nevada’s Governor, Attorney General, Clark County, Nye County, the City of Las Vegas. They want to put an end to legalized of prostitution in the state saying it leads to sex trafficking.

“I want Nevadans to really understand that until we deal with the legal system, the black market, the illegal system will thrive,” said attorney Jason Guinasso.

The lawsuit says the women “were sex trafficked due to that system of legalized prostitution.” And it’s “violating the thirteenth amendment’s ban on slavery.”

“I view prostitution is modern day slavery,” Guinasso said.

The brothels are highly regulated with good security and deliver a lot of tax money to the counties. The prostitutes are examined for disease weekly.

The street prostitutes are disease infested scuzz bags compared to the legal ones.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

One of the reasons many men come to sin city is to get laid, or blown, by someone other than "old faithful" (if she's in a good mood ...).

The lawsuits will likely fail, for a variety of reasons.
    What, Me Worry?
