Yeah a hookah bar isn't exactly where I'd expect an altercation to lead to a mass shooting of 14 people.
Surprisingly, only 1 has died, and 2 are in critical condition, meaning that 11 of the 14 will survive, and possibly as many as 13. That's pretty good numbers for a situation where 14 people were shot.
For some reason this isn't getting a lot of press, despite the large number of people shot. Maybe because only one died? Reminds me a bit of the Thousand Oaks Borderline Bar shooting of November 2018, though that one had a lot more deaths, and apparently it was a targeted spree killing, rather than springing from an altercation.

Las Vegas is a major city. Las Vegas metropolitian area 2.7 million people now. Like every major city there are bad, run down, crime infested areas. And yes these are population by more black and Hispanic people who tend to be lower income. None of this is new.
If you find yourself in one of these areas, at 3:15 in the morning on a Friday night into Saturday morning, at an unlicensed bar/Hookah lounge, well that is on you. It is like you are seeking out this kind of crap!!
Let's not paint it as anything other than that.
I don't think the dead went to the hookah bar were seeking to shoot or get shot; they most certainly just wanted to chill, to party.
