Thread: A Note From Alan

I just couldn't help but drop in and say a few words to such a congenial bunch of good buddies. I'm glad to see you're all getting along and spreading good cheer and helpful casino information. This is just what a forum should be.

I see you're giving Rob a hard time again just like you gave him a hard time before about his big win on a $25/coin machine at Wynn. Yes, I went to Wynn and confirmed that the machine was there and the denomination was accurate in the photo with no photo alterations.

I believe Rob hits big winners because he plays big. I would not doubt the latest dealt royal because dealt royals happen. And if you play high denomination games you'll get dealt royals at high denominations.

I've had at least a half dozen dealt royals including one on the $5 progressive at Bellagio.

My ex wife Janet had two dealt royals only one hand apart. But they were at two different bartops at two different restaurants on two different days.

I'm here to say two things: Rob hits big winners.

The other thing I have to say is not good.

I've been spending a lot of time reading forums because I've been with Janet for a couple of months now as she's trying to stay alive with leukemia. It's not going well.

She had lung cancer when we were married about five years ago. She beat it. The leukemia was discovered in January of last year. It's not good. She's in pain. She's weak. Treatments have failed but we're hoping for another shot.

I'm writing to tell you that casino gambling claims and reports and experiences don't matter when someone you love is dying before your eyes. Touching buttons don't matter when touching the hand of someone you love is skin and bones and trembling. The excitement of winning is nothing when you hold someone you love who is shivering from chills and pain.

Take a deep breath guys. Think about what's important.

And Rob congratulations on the win. I believe you and I'll continue to believe you until someone posts a photo proving that's not your royal.

And me personally? I really am retired. I play $15 of free play on occasion or $300 at craps... but right now I'm taking care of Janet.

I hope she can somehow beat this and that the two of you can find a bit of happiness together.

It is to your credit that you are there for her now.

It's extraordinary that she was able to beat lung cancer five years ago. Lung cancer is tough. It resolves easily at first, but it almost always comes back in a short time. Alan, I salute your commitment and love.

Since I went through the small cell lung cancer process with my late wife 20 years ago, I appreciate what you are handling at the moment. The decision-making along the way is no picnic.

Regarding Argentino, you can understand why I think his multiple declarations on this forum that my wife committed suicide is something that I cannot tolerate or blow off. Why someone would declare something like that is beyond me. He obviously had no information, so why he would put that in print multiple times is bizarre. It tells you the depths to which he sinks that have zero to do with topics debated on this and other forums.

I wish you the best. When someone you love goes through this and you come out the other side, reality shimmers a bit as you are jolted out of your usual banal perspectives and priorities. Be careful after the fact, as it's established that your personal health risks peak in the months immediately after the loss of a loved one.

Alan, wishing the best for Janets health. A friend of my mom's has had leukemia for 12 year now and seems to be doing fine. I am sure there are probably different types and stages and all but I am just saying when I was a kid it seemed like luekemia was a death sentence. Today Maybe not. Again hoping for the best.

About Rob. Interesting that you Alan, would blindly take him at his word. Yes dealt royals happen. That doesn't mean Rob was dealt one on a $5 multiplay machine with multipliers. People win lotteries worth 100s of millions of dollars too. If Rob claimed that I also wouldn't believe him.

And the reason is not hatred of Rob or the person posting as Rob Singer. It is credibility. Others may feel differently but this person has none as far as I am concerned. The Newell pictures were just the icing on the cake. The double-up bug before that. 10 years of winning -EV games because the machines "teleported hot and cold cycles".

Come on. When is enough, enough? Alan YOU even reported at WoV that you met with Rob who admitted some of his claims were BS. So seems peculiar that you now blindly accept a new rather fantastical claim.

Now again, I am not suggesting Rob need prove anything. He absolutely is not required to. He isn't on trial. But based on past behavior and that is what credibility is....I don't see how or why anyone would blindly accept this claim. Especially someone who had publicly stated that Rob had told him past claims were BS.

I'm back at the hospital for the second time today. Janet and I stay at a Cancer Society hotel. This morning she came for tests and a treatment then they just called us back because her blood test called for another infusion. Twice in one day is not uncommon.

Rob is Rob, kewlj. When he told me about the DUB he also changed his report about his annual wins from his other play. I had to report that.

But that doesnt change what I know about Rob. He does play high denominations.

If he makes crazy arguments it's just part of this whacky forum. I dismiss it just as I dismiss the crap that many forum members put me through.

Rob has always been a high limit player. He hit a big royal. So what?

Bet big, you win big. And yes, you also lose big. That's casino gambling.

Alan, you are making little KJ cry like a baby. He's so invested in Singer being broke it will take several psyche sessions to pull him out of it. He's screaming "It can't be so! It can't be so! Rob has to be broke! Rob has to be broke!" He will be crestfallen if it's not true. His whole world will fall apart. He'll probably take a dive from his condo to the street below.

Hope you ex-wife recuperates. But I suspect she hasn't been very nice to you in the past.

Why do you ALWAYS have to make things about you, even in the midst of Alan relaying disturbing information about his lovely ex wife?

I've told you multiple times--I always believed you were some anonymous hater here who hurled insults just like anyone else. My comments about someone you labeled as "your wife" was just that. No one here knows or ever knew if you were ever married and we still don't. But if you're gonna lie about me then you're gonna get an insult or two, especially when I don't believe such a person existed.

    Weird. Just plain weird.

There's one thing about pensions I'd like to mention because I had this discussion with my brother this morning.

My brother is about to collect on his late wife's pension. He has to choose between monthly checks or a lump sum. Once monthly checks are chosen you can't "raid" your pension for a lump sum payment.

I'm sure Rob and his wife are living quite well on their monthly payments.

Younger workers do not know nor can they appreciate the value of employer paid pensions. Unlike 401ks and savings accounts the pensions don't run dry.

Alan, you told me about Janet's condition in the past but it's still difficult to hear about what she's currently going thru. All I can do is pass along my wish for her not to suffer. There's way more than enough of that in this unforgiving world.

Sorry to hear Alan, best wishes.

    Thank you, everyone.

Yes, Rob and I have been talking for quite a while.

I'm back at the hospital now for the second time today. Janet is now being admitted after showing a fever while getting the infusion.

Frankly I dont know why she was being treated as an outpatient when she's spent routinely 2 to 9 hours a day here getting infusions.

I guess it's about saving insurance and government money.

I really want to thank all of you for being civil.

This is the last decent picture we took before she was hospitalized. It was last September. She had lost a lot of weight.

Janet was released from the hospital. They knocked out a life threatening infection and it's made a wonderful difference. So now it's back to a daily outpatient routine of infusions, injections and pills in an effort to stabilize her. The ultimate goal is to try more chemo. I'm staying here doing what I can.

You're helping her to "fight the good fight."

I can relate, as can you or anyone who has had to deal with serious, life-threatening medical issues before.

Me, I came back from the doc yesterday after a nervous night of wondering "What will the test results be, do I have much more time left?"

The results were good ... so far.

Life is a gift, let's not piss it away.

I had my "support" when I was on dialysis and then had my kidney and pancreas transplants. I know how important it is to have someone.

    Thanks V.
