Thread: Anyone been able to book back to back room offers at Golden Nugget?

  1. #1
I booked 3 nights comped at Golden Nugget using an offer. Recently I got another offer for 3 nights during that same week. I was able to book it online giving me 6 nights in a row comped (2 separate reservations). I think typically you can only book 4 or 5 nights comped in a row. Is this going to be an issue?

    Golden Nugget = Super Scared
They are so Chicken Shit they wouldn't even let me bet more than 500 on one stupid hockey game.

You should either call them to confirm what you booked is OK, or be prepared with a backup plan just in case. In either scenario, all you need to do is WIN MONEY and you're covered.

Increasingly difficult to do. A friend of mine just returned this week from a comped stay at the GN. The video poker is not good. Blackjack has just one table, usually after 7 PM, that pays 3-2. I believe he said it was a $25, sometimes $50, minimum. Plus GN is doing some kind of mandatory moron longshot blackjack bets of a buck or something each hand.

Kewlj, what are those moron bets about? How can they make them mandatory? The best thing he said he played was a blackjack video game. I think the most you could bet per hand was $25 or $50, but you did get 3-2.

He did okay this trip, said he was almost exactly even on cash gambling and profited his 2K in free play. But the handwriting is on the wall in neon to find another locale.

Monet, does GN still have the same woman managing the sportsbook? She's so tight, her Spanx wear Spanx. She's so pleasant, I try to get on her nerves whenever I interact with her. I went in there to cash a SF to win NFC for not a lot, 8K or 10K or something two years ago, and she was the epitome of sour. I cashed it a couple of days before the ticket expiration date, so maybe they had chalked up that ticket as a donation.

Historically, I like the GN. But not the most welcoming of places these days.

Sad to see the GN hit the skid, as it used to be my go to joint over the year. They were always the only swanky joint downtown, but they seem to have lost that niche market to the Circa. For year, it was the only joint downtown what offer the baccarats proposition and my play always got tops-notch comp there, hey hey.

The Nugget was a great place to play for over 30 years.
A shitload of Full Pay VP and a .6 card with mailers galore.
My favorite was the Golf Scramble Invites.
Easy 800 dollar lock up and all the free food and drinks stopping by every hole or two.
Anyways, once Landry's took over it was all cut, cut, cut.
I rarely go in the joint but I was laying a bunch of 900 dollar bets all over town and they would only take 500.
    Rinky Dink Bullshit.

I did book a backup just in case. Just would be nice to not have to change hotels. Thought maybe since I booked the second reservation online I stumbled upon some kind of loophole and if that's the case if I call and ask they might just put a kibosh on my second reservation.

I could attempt to combine reservations at check-in (perhaps persuade them with a tip) or maybe check out on the last day of my 1st reservation and come back later that day and check in under my new reservation. Just curious if anyone knew about Golden Nugget offers. Fairly new to their property.

I've not had luck with trying to combine back-to-backs the way you've booked these two. But I've never had the second stay revoked once I've checked in either. The way I'd handle this (and I have vast experience in your situation, including GN but 10-15 years ago) is, wait and see if THEY bring up the fact that you have an immediate 2nd reservation. They won't (and shouldn't) combine them into a 6-night stay. But if the 2nd reservation check-in day is not a Fri. or Sat., there's a good chance they'll flag the room you're already in so you can have it again without moving, if you suggest it. They may even suggest it.

That's what I'm hoping for but every property is different. Thanks

The first reservation is Fri-Mon. The second is Mon-Thurs.
