I got a kick out of how Boyd now assigns comp points for wagering. Get a load of this.

If you make a bet that returns 1/1 to 3/1, you earn 1 point for every dollar bet.
If you make a bet that returns 3/1 to 4/1, you earn 2 points per dollar wagered.

The scale goes all the way up to 500-1 or higher return, you get 12 points per dollar wagered.

The scale goes the other way, too. If you bet something at -250 or more, you get a tenth of a point for every dollar wagered.

So the comp system is designed to drive you into betting multi-team parlays. And it's designed to steer you away from betting favorites on moneylines. In the year of the Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers, that's telling you something.

Have you ever seen such blatant steering of bettors? I thought it was pretty funny. They may as well put up big signs: "Please bet parlays!" " Parlays are your Friend!"
