Do the Math. How much can you lose?
How much will YOU probably use?

^^ VCT is honoured to have the infamous OD posting a half a dozen posts in the last couple of days. He's a prime candidate to fill the humongous void left by VCT veteran heavyweight MadMax.

You only have to be playing a minimum of one cent in order to qualify! A month or two months ago, I was playing 6 cents when the Promo popped up and I won $300!

It might be +EV if done correctly however can you/will you do the math and figure out how to do it correctly? Just from the way you stated the promotion, tells me you won't. The amount of money they are giving away is meaningless. It matters what the total cost of earning those prize amounts is. It doesn't matter how much you made in the past it doesn't matter how much or how little you can bet. Well, some of that matters(not your past results), but not for the reasons you probably think.

There is a very simplistic overview of the promotion on their website.
Is there a link that gives the official rules?

Afaik, you pick a 5-digit #, and then the computer draws a 5-digit #. You win for each matched digit in position.

Maybe Tasha can recall the exact pay scale, but the biggest value comes from the $20 pay for 1 hit. Advertised promo total was $75k in June and 60k in October, although those amounts seem low for an entire month of Fridays.

In Nevada there was a promo along the same general lines, with precise start times. Some players suddenly discovered stacks of player cards in their pockets.

On each attempt, the player has about a 41% chance of at least one hit .

Yep, that's how it works. I just wish it would allow a box. I had about 11 picks that showed up in the wrong spots. A box, where any of your chosen numbers shows up anywhere counts would be ideal.

And.... The promo is officially canceled for December. The much more boring 10 times the Points Promo will take its place instead. Boo! :/

Probably the marketing director read your posts here and realized the promo was going to get crushed.

Somewhat surprised they would cancel this. As far as a “Promotion Expense” of $60k for 4 days - amounts to around 15k per day, which isn’t bad.

Since the penny machines are limited in number, there is only a max number of machines that are “available” for AP play. Also, if I’m understanding the rules correctly, it’s not worth most AP’s time. I can see someone with a 3 digit bankroll ($100-$999) doing this.

If I had to guess they looked at the average coin-in prior to the promotion, then during the promotion and the coin-in didn’t increase at all or didn’t increase enough to make the promotion worth its expense of at least $60k over 4 promotional days.

It’s hard to tell, Casino Higher-Ups aren't the smartest group of people.
