Since Mdawg is a lawyer and is well versed in Gambling, maybe he can help me out. :/

Subpoena Notice from Google (Internal Reference No. 24287633)

    Hello,

Google has received a subpoena for information related to your Google account. This email serves as notice to you that Google may produce information in response to the subpoena unless you make a formal objection in court, as described below.

The subpoena was issued by the Plaintiff and the Class in a class-action lawsuit entitled ADRIENNE BENSON and MARY SIMONSON v. DOUBLEDOWN INTERACTIVE, LLC, INTERNATIONAL GAME TECHNOLOGY, and IGT, United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, 18-cv-525-RSL. Google is not a party to this litigation.

YOU HAVE NOT BEEN SUED IN THIS CASE, NOR ARE YOU A TARGET OF THE UNDERLYING LAWSUIT. INSTEAD, THE PLAINTIFF AND THE CLASS HAVE REQUESTED THAT GOOGLE PROVIDE INFORMATION RELATED TO CERTAIN DOUBLEDOWN CASINO, DOUBLEDOWN FORT KNOX, DOUBLEDOWN CLASSIC, AND ELLEN’S ROAD TO RICHES ACCOUNTS, SO THAT CLASS MEMBERS MAY BE NOTIFIED OF THE LAWSUIT.

Unless you provide Google with a file-stamped copy of a motion to quash or another type of formal objection filed with the court by 10 a.m. Pacific Time on December 28, 2022, Google may produce information associated with your Google account to the plaintiffs pursuant to their subpoena. Specifically, Google may produce the contact information associated with your Google account used to make purchases for the game apps entitled DoubleDown Casino, DoubleDown Fort Knox, DoubleDown Classic, and Ellen’s Road to Riches.

To the extent you file a motion to quash, please include any relevant email address(es) associated with your Play account(s) to enable Google to withhold your information from any production made in this matter.

Unfortunately, Google cannot give you legal advice about this matter. Please do not reply to this message. Replies to this message are routed to an unmonitored mailbox. If you intend to serve Google with a motion to quash or another type of formal objection filed with the court, you can serve Google LLC through the appropriate office of Google LLC’s registered service agent, Corporation Service Company. If you have questions about the subpoena, you can contact the law firm that served the subpoena at:

I had actually purchased from Double Down Casino online, so now that I got this letter, I'm confused and worried. Mdawg, what should I do?

Tasha, what this is saying is that ADRIENNE BENSON and MARY SIMONSON are suing Doubledown interactive. They are looking for other potential customers to join them in their class action suit, so they subpoenaed Google to provide them with names of other potential customers.

I have never heard of real legal notification done by email, nor of providing a 5 day window over a holiday weekend for the person contacted to go to court to stop the release of your information to Adrienne and Mary and/or their lawyers.

But if this is real, and you have done business with the company being sued, Doubledown and really feel you need legal representation or advise, by all means go to a guy on a gambling forum that got his law degree from an online law school. THAT seems like the thing to do.

    Merry Christmas to you Tasha.

Tasha, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for douchedawg to respond; he's either in the casino pissing away his family's fortune or in his bathroom wiping vagina juices off of his fake Rolex.

Actually, I got this Email on December 7th, but it automatically went into my Spam Folder without me knowing anything about it in the first place. I checked my Spam Folder today, and that's when I found this Email.

    Spam, eh?

Tasty, but not as good as Taylor ham, aka pork roll.

    Actually, I don't think it's spam.

Tasha, did you ever play on the Doubledown Casino?

For those wondering, these are "casino" apps where you buy coins but can't win any real money. Somehow people have lost big money on these apps, despite there being literally zero chance of reward.

There have been some lawsuits that these apps violate gambling laws, but as you'll see in the link above, it's not easy to win them.

They market these to middle-aged and older women, as they are the overwhelming demographic that uses them.

I don't feel sorry for these people - if they are that stupid

Buy coin - gamble coin - eventually lose coin - get entertained.
Rent movie - watch movie - return movie - get entertained

Boyd has this, the only gain is you get Reward Credits based on coin purchases. Worthless
Wynn has a pretty ggood gaming program. Got a couple of free buffets ( cost $5 to get to next tier for the buffet). Ended during Covid.

Probably got an order for substituted service, given that there was no way to otherwise contact such subscribers? But, even three weeks likely wouldn't be long enough to make such a further motion to Superior Court. Let alone the cost. And, what could Tasha have to do with any of that? Sort of bizarre, like every thing else that goes on with gambling. Another head-scratcher.
