Thread: Viejas

In 2020, after dropping $40,000+ into the slot machines at Viejas casino, Viejas says I allegedly dropped a bag of narcotics on the casino floor. Without even speaking to me, Viejas had a San Diego Deputy follow me off the property, pull me over on the freeway and inform me of the casinos false allegations. Nothing became of it but a 6 month ban from the casino and a whole lot of embarrassment. (Or so I thought). In addition to losing all of the the high dollar free-play that I had earned due to the ban, Viejas attempt to prosecute and the District Attorneys refusal, an error showed up in my court records. An arrest that was recorded incorrectly when it had been a simple field stop. Viejas should be held accountable for the defamation and damage they did to my life. Several lawyers have told me it's impossible to seek recourse as they are a sovereign nation. So then what gives them the right to find me guilty and involve the sheriff and without ever even speaking with me?? I HAVE BEEN SO WRONGED while Viejas only continues to ignore me.

Contact them and demand an apology. Explain to them that you will hammer them on social media. Put your story up on social media. The only thing that will get them to change their tune is bad publicity.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

That's really rotten that they'd mess up an innocent Person's Reputation and Records just like that! You should sue! Even if they're a Sovereign Nation, you should fight them tooth and nail for this! You lost $4,000 in their Slot and they have the audacious nerve to falsely claim you dropped a bag of narcotics on the floor and ban you for 6 months for something you didn't even do and cause you to lose your high dollar free play, plus mess up your records! They're fucking assholes!

Take comfort in the fact that no one is actually backing up his wishes to have you permanantly banned.

Smart is knowing a Tomato is a fruit.

Wise is knowing a Tomato doesn't belong in a fruit salad.

I am glad to get my full posting rights back! Thank you Dan!

Interesting story. Would you like to come on my Poker Fraud Alert Radio show to discuss it?

I have long been very critical of all Indian casinos, especially given their so-called "sovereignty". This allows them to abuse the rights of Americans in ways they never thought could happen. Unfortunately, these lawyers are correct that you cannot sue Viejas. The good news is that, at the same time, they did not have very much influence over the San Diego County DA.

I am guessing someone else dropped the narcotics, and it was wrongly blamed on you.

I don't like it when the police just mean to intimidate and humiliate a person and repeat accusations of another party, probably even adding onto it. Did the casino do this just to not pay the free play out is a question as well. The six month window between the incident and the accusation are suspicious.

Yes, tribal casinos have "sovereign immunity" and that is problematical for non-Indians who feel aggrieved, BUT most if not all of these joints do have a tribal court you can sue them in.

Sure, it sounds wonky but there it is.

Assuming you want to press it, find an attorney familiar with that casino's tribal court and heed their advice.
