Thread: Las Vegas Review Journal kills article explaining that blackjack has degraded to 6:5 in most places

    Very disturbing situation.

The Las Vegas Review Journal posted an article called, "On National Blackjack Day, players celebrate 3:2 casino payouts".

Then they killed it. Here was the link, which now just brings you to the LVRJ home page: https://www.reviewjournal.com/busine...youts-2735328/

You can still find it here, on MSN, which has a contract to carry LVRJ's content: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba...ts/ar-AA17Wr8A

It appears someone at the casinos had enough influence over the LVRJ to kill the article, but I guess MSN didn't get the memo, so it still lives there.

There is no real local media anymore in this town, unless you count the Nevada Independent, which unfortunately skews very left so it's not always easy to trust them, either.

Or was it taken down because of goofy info like this...
"if you bet $10 on a 3:2 table, you would win $14"

They charge a $1 per hand service fee now.

The article wasn't good, but LOL at the LVRJ killing it because some casino exec(s) complained.

The problem with Vegas becoming an "entertainment" town instead of a gambling town is that the average gambler has become much, much dumbed down.

Compare the average gambler in the '80s versus the average one today and there's no comparison regarding which one would have more knowledge.

Gambling started Vegas, but can one make arguments that entertainment made it boom into what it is today? Both gambling and entertainment are needed to make Vegas thrive. Especially nowadays with gambling available everywhere.

I have no problem with every blackjack game on earth becoming 6:5. That way we can rid ourselves of idiots like jstat.

It's certainly been a boon for next hand multipliers and slot plays. Keep those Pablo Cruise and Tony Orlando tours a comin'. Love taking down 271% RTP plays.
