Thread: First Casino you gambled in? :) And list of all Casinos you have gambled in. :)

  1. #1
The first Casino I gambled in was Magic City Casino. I played Wolf Run at .50 bets and then after that day I went primarily to literal penny bets and now play dollars besides the times when I get paltry free play like $10 bets, and then I play .10 bets.

A complete list of Casinos I have gambled in.

    Calder Casino
    Casino Miami
    Dania Beach Casino
    Gulfstream Park Casino
    Hialeah Park Casino
    Isle Pompano Casino
    Magic City Casino
    Seminole Classic Casino Hollywood
    Seminole Coconut Creek
    Seminole Hard Rock
    Mardi Gras/The Big Easy Casino.

I think it was Club Cal Neva, in Reno, Nevada Tasha. Not 100% on that, but pretty confident it was. I will not answer the 2nd question for obvious reasons.

The first casino I gambled in was the Hyatt Regency at Incline Village on Lake Tahoe.

Awhile ago...I recall using silver dollars (pre-TITO).

Why is this of any value to anything, especially to a known casino addict and loser like tusha?

I've never been to a casino until Nov. 1990. I went to Gold Coast and hit a 25c royal in my first ever go at VP for $1000, and it was only because the very scantily clad cocktail waitress told my wife and I that we should be playing 5 credits instead of 2. I had no idea what I was doing and none of it mattered to me until I sat down at an outside market in Tasmania to think about it a few weeks later.

Who would have thought that incident would have delivered the greatest video poker player of all time, who also has hit the biggest video poker jackpot of all time?

The first casino I had action in was somewhere in reno near the bus station, I was only 18 so I had someone use a coupon for me on blackjack for a $2 bet.

I was running the Four Queens coupons for a free $10 in .25 tokens at age 19 until that dried up. That was worth $30-$70 a day for about 3 months for a few hours of fun. That was probably close to what I was making per an 8-hour day working.

There's no chance I could tell you the number of different casinos I have been in.

What about the worst casinos you've been in?

For me, as for bigger casinos, it's gotta be The Western and Railroad Pass, at least when in Las Vegas.

The absolute worst casino was The Lakes Region casino in Belmont, NH: a "charitable gaming" facility.

It really sucked because the payouts at craps were NOT the norm, they were substantially less, and the most you could bet on any bet was three bucks.

V—-I used to be the stick for casino night for the pediatric brain tumor foundation. We had low limits like that. So a bunch of guys come to my table that i recognize either from the local casinos or the mob games at which i handled the stick. Pretty heavy hitters and they wanted to raise the limits. I explained the law and that i couldnt raise the limits. They said win or lose they were going to give me all their chips. They just wanted to have some fun.
The dealer at the other table was a dealer at a local casino who i knew. She got wind of my higher limits and went nuts. She kept coming over and threatened to call the police and gaming. The table was hot and these guys had a lot of chips. Finally, after 7 out they had some choice words for her, threw all their chips to me,and left.

So i took in thousands for the charity instead of a couple hundred.

The worst Casino I have ever been in is Dania Beach Casino. I got ZERO free play scratch off card as a New Member. Seriously, Zero free play scratch off for New Members shouldn't even BE there. I lost the money I came in with on top of that. I should have known when I suddenly got splashed by a puddle shortly before going to Dania Beach. I had JUST gotten my hair done and I had a gut feeling I should buy a shower cap, but I override my gut feeling by telling myself I had an umbrella. A truck splashed me by driving through a puddle and my just done hair looked fucking crazy. I should have taken that as a bad omen to not come to Dania Beach Casino that day but I went and got zero free play and lost the money I came in with!

I've been backed off from all blackjack in the first casino I ever played in for over 20 years now. As for how many casinos I played in, it would be difficult to remember them all, but I know my list is longer than Tasha's. I will say I have played blackjack in 6 different states.

Assuming you even survive the trip from the parking lot into the casino

I never really cared if a casino was nice or a shithole, as long as there's a +EV opportunity and money to be made. Im sure the wost has been some small dive in Northtown that I can't even remember the name of. Very few people spoke English and the middle of the place was used as a Mexican dance floor.

As far as actual legitimate casinos go, I would have to say The Western was the worst. Gold Spike was a real dive.

In the 90's when the EC had .49-99 cent breakfast (It was actually good). It was absolutely full of crazy homeless people.
I ate there often on my days off from work. I remember a few times scrounging up just enough change to eat and leave a $1 tip.
