Here's a great (and funny) article about a local's visit to The Strat (new name of The Stratosphere), where he was shocked at how difficult the experience was regarding their new paid parking system:

Cliffs:
- New paid parking system requires the scanning of a QR code with your phone, getting a text link to a website, entering credit card info, and then having to text or call to get out
- Tons of people can't operate this system (or it's incompatible with their phone), and it holds up the line getting both in and out
- The system charges everyone a $0.99 fee on top of whatever the parking charge is, in order to process payment
- There is no validation of parking if you spend money at Strat. If you're not a card level high enough to get free parking, you simply don't get it
What a fucking fail!
Why is Strat even charging for parking? Don't they want to encourage visitors, given that they're in a bad part of town, away from everything else anyone would want to visit? Who would park there and then walk somewhere else? I'm guessing almost nobody.
I really really hate shit which counts on QR Codes or other mobile based things in order to operate them. In fact, counting on everyone carrying a smartphone with them is a mistake in itself.
