I have been invited to a slot tournament next month at a Caesars property.

How do these work? Do they rope off a machine on the floor? Or do they haul out machines from the back that are specific to the tournament?

My main question is whether the machines are +EV or -EV (if value is fake credits and machines are not from the floor).

Either way you max bet it but if you happen to hit a decent linepay does it make sense to keep going at it? Or just stop and stay in the money?

Usually they either have special tournament machines somewhere in the casino or they temporarily convert a group of regular machines into tournament machines.

Usually you can only rack up more points by spinning and do not lose points, so the best strategy is to spin as many times as you can during the session period which are usually very short, 2-3 minutes.

I've been gambling for many, many years and did my first slot tourney ever last May. It was pretty stupid but it was free. You peck the button as fast as you can like a monkey for a few to several minutes and hopefully you accumulate enough points to get into a paying spot. Mine was 3 sessions but I did not participate in the last one. I knew after 2 sessions the odds of me placing high enough to get into the money were very low.
