Thread: Are busier times good or bad for APs?

Are busier times like Saturday nights good or bad for APs?

I took a break from working on a Saturday to go play and there are lines at every machine at every casino I visited.

Depends on the casino & the competition. If its a very busy casino and you can’t get on a machine, then tough to make any money.

On the other hand if it’s busy, but not so busy that you can actually get on machines more plays will be generated on Saturday night than any other night of the week,

So it all depends on your market.

    I agree with DGenBen.

I also think some of it comes down to whether you prioritize total $$$ EV or if you have some standard when it comes to hourly EV. When it comes to many casinos, my tendency is to want to prioritize getting in and out quickly, thereby maximizing hourly EV. My experience, which can vary by person and by casino, is that you can sometimes find some, "Sweet spot," hours during which you can find a reasonable amount of EV with not so much competition.

On the other hand, if you're hustling full-time as a sole source of income, then I guess you couldn't afford to be too picky on hourly EV.

It's very much a side gig for me and the time I have to devote to it is mostly after work and on weekends.

I'm trying to expand the number of AP-able games I understand.

Are you talking about vulturing slots, other machine opportunities, or blackjack?

Sometimes it can be good in the morning. All the slot APs give up at 1am or whatever so early in the morning plays have accumulated. It really just varies on the competition. The days the casino are busy is a bit of a constant. Just look it up on google maps for a graph.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

I remember Bill razzing me in the Road Pic thread about pics of casinos with empty parking lots. The parking lots were empty because it was very early in the morning. That's my favorite time for hitting a casino. Nobody in the seats so you can check everything.

My least favorite time in the casino is when it's busy. All the machines taken. You can't check anything and have to wait around for someone to get up and leave something. Not my cup of tea. I'm in the hotel room during the busy times.

If I'm staying off property I generally will leave the casino by 5 PM and not return until the morning. If I'm staying on property I will make a lap around midnight because I always wake up at that time and am up for an hour or so then back to bed.
