Thread: Worst casino "resort" ?

  1. #1
I don't want to name this place by name but it is a Caesars property. So in the past the rooms lacked enough hot water to shower without shivering. Ok, that is bad enough. I was going to shower before check-out and assumed that maybe everyone else had that on their mind but nah.

The "balcony" room has the door screwed shut. Standard but why sell it as a "balcony" room when it does nothing except make the view worse?

Water too cold? Well not in this room. I turn on shower and wait to see.. Water is nice and hot.

lol The water is so hot that it is not possible to mix in enough cold water to actually take a shower. It is scalding hot.
This is actually not even an improvement. I would need to get to the shower and barely use the water so I can trickle the water out until hot water reached the room.

The toilet has a handle that sticks in the on position. Another room also had this.

The little stopper part of the sink popped off before I even really used the sink.

But HERE IS THE KICKER. I WAS SITTING ON THE SHITTER. I GET UP and the WHOLE SEAT SHIFTS AN INCH. I inspect it and the toilet seat is glued on to the base of the toilet. Adhesive is great for sticking on porcelain btw. lolol. This one had me in stitches.

There are more issues with the property in general but wow. A glued on toilet seat that'll slip when you get up. I'd make a list of issues with the hotel in general but don't want anyone figuring out where I am just cuz.

And of course the standard resort fee.

"The empire" they say. The Deathstar was more functional than this place. Epic.
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

    Why not name the property?

I've stayed in every Caesars Vegas property except Planet Hollywood and The Cromwell, and I haven't noticed the issues you're describing.

I've noticed other issues, but not these.

I'd name it but I avoid things that might be used to dox me. That means saying which casino I am at. Just not worth the concern. If it came up later and I wasn't doing anything here I'd say.

But yes not in LV and yes I've never had a place this bad on the strip.

Outside of the water temperature / toilet issues it is a perfectly acceptable bland hotel room.

This place doesn't even have a gym.

Mainly I just needed an out for my whining but was hoping someone would make me feel good.

Probably, Linq or BallysHorseShit. Both had some sort of "Balconies" in their early history.
BTW, Eldiablo is mostly third tier properties. Caesars is second tier. They pretend to be first tier - ain't.

The Luxor is the only place that really stands out over my years at the strip. The Imperial Palace was pretty beat but everything was always functional. The Luxor had the not quite enough hot water issue. The weird ceilings and obnoxious elevator. Didn't like the hallways.

On my first Vegas trip many many years ago the Luxor had just opened up. I remember the cool Egyptian vibe and finding a red chip on the floor. My friends went bust when we were there so we didn't have enoguh cash on us to pay the taxi driver. I was sweating it and we told him to pull over somewhere on the way and I gave him a $1 chip as a tip as we hopped out.

So last year I decided to stay there for a couple days to mix it up. Ugh.

Amazing that no matter how nice a casino can be I will never be as jazzed as that first trip or 2 to LV.

Worst place off the strip was this place .. one of these days where pretty much all the rooms in the whole city are gone. Just out of nowhere .. So I find some shitty motel somewhere downtownish. The first room didn't have a working AC in Summer so they moved me to this other room. I knew there was going to be an issue with it. I put some stuff in there and yea smell was bad but came back and it had me gagging. Literally inhaled-held run in, grab stuff, exhale .. repeat until emptied. At the time I assumed some animal had died in there but it didnt' dawn on me until years later that someone had likely died in there. They might have even been absorbed into the bed. lol. Ugh that was nasty.

That is the true "walk of shame". Strip to the airport.

I walked into one of the south strip properties from the frontdoor after walking back from the pinball place. Apparently that was enough to have a security guy following me around. lol

There's no such thing as a "casino resort".

    All casinos are dumps.

I've always considered Caesars to be toward the lower end of the large casino mgmt companies. Ever stayed at Harrah's Laughlin?? Even the Flamingo is pretty rough around the edges and I would not stay there again. I'm sure some of the Eldorado properties they've picked up are still not great, even now. The Harvey's Tahoe casino is pretty dated so I can't imagine the rooms being too nice either.

They recently opened up a brand new land based Horseshoe casino in Lake Charles. It's not really even done. Trying to get from the parking garage to reception is a complete joke. Caesars is definitely pinching pennies so I'm not surprised at your comments in the least.

I'm not so sure. Places like Red Rock are pretty great IMO. Nice pool. Movie theater. Very acceptable selection of food.

It basically requires a casino made where land is not a premium. Choctaw is very similar and of equivalent quality.

An equivalent hotel room is going to cost $200+ and won't have near the amenities. You'll have to leave the property to eat most of the time.

I've become fairly picky in my years but it is a rare day I'll pay for a real hotel room for more than 1 night.

The Horseshoe? Wasn't that the hotel that redietz bragged about staying at? So it's a flea bag, huh? LOL, ditz acted like it was the lap of luxury.
"More importantly, mickey thought 8-4 was two games over .500. Argued about it. C'mon, man. Nothing can top that for math expertise. If GWAE ever has you on again, you can be sure I'll be calling in with that gem.'Nuff said." REDIETZ

It is better than Circus Circus and whatever the IP was turned into. Probably 4th from the bottom as far as strip properties.

Last time I was in LV I had 3 nights at Bellagio with a room facing the fountain and I only stayed there 1 of the 3 nights. Granted it was definitely off-season as far as rooms but just sayin'

Sports bettors, unlike APs, do not require indoor plumbing because their thoughts are so pure that even their bodies no longer produce waste.

Supposedly Caesars was to do a full remodeling of the property with the recent rebranding so I was going to give it a try last Feb. Then I read the reviews, not good. Pinching pennies again... Caesars seems to be dragging their feet on a lot of projects which is hard to grasp with LV putting up record numbers. Maybe ElDorado overextended themselves with the merge.

The only good thing about Caesars is they have properties all over the country, which is the only reason I keep a decent rating with them.

To me resort properties in Vegas are places like Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch. Maybe the "M". Places that you could go to for a few days and entertain yourself at the spa, by the pool, see a show, eat at nice restaurants. Things beside gambling. I Guess some of the strip properties have that also and better shows but strip properties are just so intertwined with gambling and the strip it is hard to separate, at least for me.

Living in Summerlyn for a few years Red Rocks was my go to place for putting up friends if I needed to so I am probably biased. It is a really nice place. And Green Valley probably even a hair nicer. You can spend a few days at these places and do no gambling and have a nice time. I hope Durango set to open in November is more like Red Rock and GVR that the other station properties.
Dan Druff: "there's no question that MDawg has been an obnoxious braggart, and has rubbed a ton of people the wrong way. There's something missing from his stories. Either they're fabricated, grossly exaggerated, or largely incomplete".

I visited the M for an hour earlier this year. The place seemed dead but I was there at an unpopular time. Nothing about it impressed me. Too much floor space for the number of machines. I legitimately felt bad I dragged some friends there.

The strip is located in an area where space is just too premium. It is also the place that clueless visitors with $$ to burn wind up. It changes around things in a way that is the opposite of what most people here expect or desire.

People in town for a few days don't care to see a movie. The pools on the strip are sad compared to what you will see at a nice property elsewhere that will have multiple sprawling pools meant for different desires. Food situation is the same. It is literally just a tourist trap. The only thing special LV has going for it is access to hookers and the fancy shows. That is it.

People literally wanting to gamble just have better options. Vegas appeals to people who don't have any definite opinions on the subject. People who think Vegas is some magical fun time place and don't care how they're being fleeced.
