Thread: How sweaty are Stayions Casinos and how good is their rewards program?

I’ve been thinking of finding an alternative to MGM now that they’re super stingy. I figure there’s so many stations places in Vegas that I should be able to Play enough AP slots in them to get to a level where I get recents comps. I’d be there 4-6 4-day weekends per year. How sweaty are they with APs? I found some good plays at Green Valley Ranch yesterday and there didn’t seem to be any heat.

Unity by Hard Rock which now owns the Mirage is an option but they only have the one property so I doubt I’d be able to maintain an elite level there. But they will match my MGM gold for next year.

    Knucklehead,

Not super sweaty in general, but if you play high payback VP on multiplier days regularly they tend to cutoff mailers.

They do tend to be sweaty if you openly check for plays in the high limit rooms.

    Hope that information helps Knucklehead

Yep, almost instantly so I would tend to think they're a bit more savvy at detecting AP activity. But since you're working games with a higher casino hold it's going to take longer for them to react.

Personally I find Stations to be on the stingy side for comps because they seem rate you by property. I only get offers for the particular properties I've played at, not corporate-wide offers. Freeplay is on the low side and packaged with a hotel offer, but this may not matter much to you. They also tier rate every 6 months which is not as out-of-towner friendly.

For these reasons I don't give them much play but I am curious as to what others think.

Very interesting, thanks for those comments.

As an out of towner yes the every 6 months tier rating may hurt. But I figure let’s see what they give me.

I’m not likely to play high payback VP on multiplier days because I’d have to be in town on the multiplier day. But I will watch out for that. Thanks!

I don’t know this for certain but I think that in big video poker markets casinos tend not to lump VP and slot APs together.

In other words I think its possible that they pay close attention to VP given the small house edges for perfect play, but don’t necessarily worry about slots as much given the high holds up front.

Outside of big VP markets I think they are more likely to just lump all machine APs together.

I could be wrong of course.

I think that makes sense from what I've seen.

Well on the upside places like Green Valley and Red Rock are very nice properties. And Stations does not charge resort fees on comped nights for any tier.

    A couple more thoughts:

Stations seems to have watered down their tier benefits after Covid to the point of essentially being no difference between Gold and Platinum, so you don't get much unless you can make President. But here is something that may be highly relevant to an out-of-towner. Stations releases their offers very late, in that you may not sometimes get an offer for a given month until a week or two prior. I typically plan my trips many months out so this does not work at all for me.

As far as sweaty goes, I have only seen a few players approached by security over the past 14 years. It always involved them harassing or trying to "Hustle" someone off a game. I have heard not to be too blatant about looking at games in the High Limit rooms but if you can time it right at the different properties you might find no employees in there at different points of the night.

As far as mail goes, be prepared to be disappointed. You will however earn some Lucky Charm NFTs which some say are "the future"... Money can't buy that.

This is a good strategy to diversify your game across different casinos and spread out your gaming activity. If maintaining elite status is a priority for you, it may be worth focusing your game on a select few properties where you have the best chance of achieving and maintaining that status.
