After watching the video carefully I believe the driver is white or Hispanic. Definitely does not appear black. You can see his arms. The passenger appears to possibly be a light skinned black. You can see him in the mirror.

Bicyclists belong on the sidewalks? What got me thinking about it was a rich old woman in Windsor, Ontario, about thirty years ago, who squawked about being somehow hit by one. Windsor, shortly after, changed its thus municipal law to allow for only wheels less than a particular diameter on the sidewalks.

I just can't see the points against biking on the same side of the road that you're supposed to walk on, ie, against traffic. A collision between a pedestrian, and, bicyclist, can't be nearly so bad as with a car, especially from behind, which is a recipe for quadriplegia.

I've done a lot of walking, but, have yet to see a bicyclist hit a pedestrian on a sidewalk. I did see one on the sidewalk, years ago, hit the ground after his wheel caught the curb when zigzagging around the old man, but, he dusted himself off, carried on. Still see a lot of bikes on the sidewalks in Kitchener - a couple last evening. And, I would never ride a bike on anything but a side street, and otherwise take my chances (with a warning if ever) on a sidewalk.

Section 492.1 of the Highway Safety Code [Canada] states that motorcycle, moped and bicycle riders are forbidden to drive on the sidewalk except when necessary or if a sign instructs them to do so.
