I remember Rob posting he had something to do with the Revel loss rebate promotion at the time. That was ten years ago. So I went looking for what he posted. Here is the Rob Singer post dated 7-13-2013 in a thread started by regnis called Revel Rebate:
"If you read vpFree regularly about this event, you'd read where I said the ONLY players who were barred, banned, or restricted from being allowed to get the up-to-$100,000 rebate were those who did not play by the WRITTEN rules. Period. There were multiple instances of cheating. One was the card-pulling you mentioned. The most prevalent has been players playing with someone else's card, using multiple cards, or teams all playing with the same named card.
Yes, WoV has indeed had tons of input on this, with some anonymous posters, of course, claiming to be some of those being tossed out or banned mid-stream from the rebate after losing tens of thousands. Naturally, none of these claims can be verified, and Dancer & I were outspoken in that the casino posted the rules prior, and the only ones dinged are the rule-breakers. But we have two different sets of facts backing what we say up. Dancer has been in talks with and maybe already is, a consultant for Revel, and he definitely would know what's going on. I otoh, went in 50-50 with a local LV hi-rolling "AP" that I've been friends with and have mentioned in my GT column a few times, for years. He was at Revel 7/1 @ 12:01 am, and he said he would only play my 25c thru $5 RTT since they removed all the $10 and up machines for this promo. We set a stop-win goal of $7800, which we had a tough negotiation over because mine was actually $5500 nd his began at $12,000.
Our deal was that if he lost the $100k, he'd spend the next 20 weeks staying in my sister's guesthouse at her home outside of Phila. That was to get the 20-week rebate. But he won $8300 and after expenses, we both made several thousand dollars +....he a little more because of how we handled taxes from his W2G's. And we BOTH read the rules as best we could prior to his departure, and he did not start play unless and until he SAW the complete set of rules in writing. Nothing was out of the ordinary, he played RTT for a week, and it was worth it. The cheaters and the like were left crying in their beer.
Some from WoV who didn't like what Dancer & I were saying proposed a $1000 bet that the WoV anonymous posters were right and lawsuits were pending that they would win. Dancer excused himself from the bet on his radio show, for being an insider of sorts, but I sent both challengers an acceptance. The offerors were "vpplayer" and "fivespot". Fivespot responded with no interest in really going thru with the bet....it was "just for conversation", and I've still not heard from the obviously cowardly vpplayer."

I remember thinking at the time that Rob's strategy was a nice fit for the Revel promotion.
