Thread: Should I get married on 1-2-3-1-2-3 in Vegas?

  1. #1
    12/31/23 breaks out to 1-2-3-1-2-3

(That weirdo Garnabby/Bill Yung/etc has noticed, I'm sure.)

Apparently couples are really excited about getting married in Vegas on that date: https://lasvegassun.com/news/2023/de...as-couples-ey/

I am not married, but have been with the same girl since 2009.

    Should I take the plunge?

    Presumably we're all invited?
It is official. Redietz will never be on Dan Druff's podcast. "too much integrity"

For some reason, getting married on New Year's Eve sounds like it would be a really bad idea. It might have seemed better if the date was something like 11/11/11(November 11,2011) 11 is a lucky number, and so is 3. So 11/11/11 was supposed to be a VERY lucky day to get married on. I know that date was over 12 years ago, but still.

    Yes, you should get married.
Signing Legal Documents and PAYING the State to get involved is another issue all together.

12/31 is already the second most popular day of the year to get married in Las Vegas. And that before you add in any special numbers like 123123. I don't know how 12/31 compares to the most popular day Valentines Day, which I have seen a line stretching around the block at the court house to get a marriage license. Just saying, you might want to allow a little extra time.

Being you are such a good forum administrator, fairly enforcing your own rules, I would like to do something special for you. I have put in a call to my top-secret casino exec friends often talked about (who in reality are a couple guys I know that work the pit) and have arranged for fireworks on the strip at midnight in your honor.

Your welcome and congrats if you decide to go through with this.

This, from the guy who while a member of WOV posted about his gay wedding, then while banned from WOV begged the Wizard to post the news of the death of his soul mate, and then twice since then stated that he made it all up that there never was any wedding or any gay lover at all.

It is pretty sick one would deny their spouse. Especially since that is truth. There's no doubt I've seen them both. But this FraudJ is a special kind of character. He lacks any kind of moral compass.

I guess that's why he prostitutes himself.

God you are an idiot! Those comments were a troll of you...nothing else. Everyone else understands that, how is it that you don't? And you call me the stupid one?

I was married in Las Vegas. And I was married by Elvis. As cheesy as that is, I wouldn't have had it any other way, because I am all about Las Vegas. I felt a calling to Las Vegas the first time I stepped off the plane on my first visit. This was long before I wore out my welcome in Atlantic City, but I always sort of knew Vegas was and would one day officially be "home".

Except that you came back and told us that you had made all of that up. Twice.

Too many numerals to deal with either until they come up, on their own, which is when they're due. And, so, in my very next post after yours, that numeral 123123 ---> 123 fell out exactly as a by-product of something else, but, perhaps, related. About the new beginnings of another couple, Sam/Mary Hill, at https://vegascasinotalk.com/forum/sh...l=1#post170185 .

Sure if you want, a little late now though to plan a wedding for that day though.

I think a better day would have been 7/7/07 but you hadn’t met her yet back then.

Depends on how much you love each other and whether you want to start a family.

    Whatever, think..."pre-nup."
    What, Me Worry?

Actually, it JUST occurred to me that 12/31/31 would be an even better date to get married than 12/31/2023 despite me thinking getting married on New Year's Eve is a bad idea. And a lot of people who are in love TODAY might not even like each other in 8 years.

Prenups are the way to go. Way too often people who are getting married assume they will be married until the day one of them dies, but a lot of marriages end usually because of cheating, money issues, abuse, one of the spouses turns out to be gay, one of the spouses turns out to have a fucked up criminal past/present , or they plain don't want each other anymore.

A lot of people also don't sign Prenups because a Prenup made no sense AT THE TIME, like a woman who was around 23 and had a lot of student loan debt and a lot of credit card debt and had a minimum wage job before she got married.

Friends and family advised her to get a Prenup but she answered,"I'm 23, working a minimum wage job, have lots of student loan debt and credit card debt. A Prenup makes no sense to me." She got married and lo and behold, she and her Husband divorced after 17 years of marriage. During the marriage, she became a successful and wealthy business woman and ended up paying her ex husband Alimony since she makes more money than he does! She advised people to not make the same mistake she did and advised thinking about the future and not about the present and advised getting a Prenup.

Two people starting at ground zero, devising a prenup that would encompass all future earnings and assets derived from that future income, and keep them sole and separate and as well no alimony for either party, would be tough to devise, and implement and even if written might be thrown out for unconscionability when the divorce came that many years later.

Prenups do a good job of protecting assets in place at the time of marriage but don't always work perfectly for all things future, especially not in the scenario you describe.

If he doesn’t want to wait 8 years how about 12/25/25?

Marriage--as with virtually everything these days--just isn't the same as it was in far better days gone by. When a lying fraud like kew finds some fat old man to sponge off of by (puke)...marrying the homo, you know this world is seriously f**ked up. Divorce is rampant, deception is in runaway mode, and all this stupid social media investigating has rendered any "happily ever after" scenarios invalid and hopeless. And even though you've been shacking up with your gal since 2009 and responsibly share her son, there seems to be nothing wrong these days to continue living in sin.

Why buy the cow when you can milk it for free?

You don't "buy the cow" when you marry, Robert: the closest analogy is you have "a potentially long-term lease."

As for your yearning for the "far better days gone by:" I strongly disagree.

Sure, we're more obese than ever, but for those who keep their nose clean and play The Game of Life correctly, living one's life can be a very enjoyable.

It just takes effort, money and a good moral compass.

Health care is much better, for example, than it was when you were a kid, and the internet allows instant access to info and communication; kids these days don't have to read encyclopedias like I did to learn about the world and how it works.

It's a New World...keep up or get the hell out of my lane...
    What, Me Worry?

We all need to listen to Singer, because the wages of sin are death! (But after taxes it’s more of just a tired feeling.)
