Thread: Fontainebleu status match is back -- with some decent perks

That's disconcerting... but may explain the lack of gamblers in the casino. 50K through slots should get a beautiful prostitute knocking on your door with a limo waiting in your driveway. When Resorts World first opened my wife was a ploppie at the tables all night long (and I mean overnight til noon, because I wasn't there) and it took them 2 years to finally mail an offer! Some of these properties just don't know what they're doing. For this reason I made no real effort to get anything going, I just wanted to check the place out.

FWIW I keep Caesars Diamond mainly through a CC status. I think I did play enough at their properties one year to actually earn it, but typically not. I do try to run enough action to keep the room comps going because it's handy that they have properties all over the US.

jdog, I think we are both Caesars Diamond through the same CC status match.

Anyway, we have something else in common. I also went to Fontainebleu to gamble for the first time this month. I visited in December to explore, but did not get a card or gamble there.

I did the status match, and now have a gold card there.

They have Double Super Times Pay on $1 machines in the high limit room, and a few other places. That allows you to play things like Deuces Wild 44 (98.91%) and 9-6 DDB (98.98%) with the extra 0.5% edge you get from Double STP. Of course, it also adds a lot more variance.

Sadly, they seem to have the ability to calculate the on the fly, depending upon what you play on a multigame machine. Most casinos can't do this, but technology has improved, and apparently Fontainebleu has it.

Laughably, despite probably at least $20k worth of coin-in, I earned only about 350 tier points, which means they rated me at about $117 theo. Ouch.

Days after I left, they changed the policy to where you earn Player Points (not tier credits) the same way you do at Caesars with RCs -- one per $5 in slots, one per $10 in VP. Just like Caesars, each is worth one penny. I believe they can be used directly for freeplay at Fontainebleu, though, whereas at Caesars you gotta halve their value if you convert them.

Basing tiers/points based upon theo, and not at all friendly to the average ploppy. So they half-fixed it.

Very nice and classy place. As you said, though, it's way too large and wide open, and appears to be a ghost town.

Oh, and one other notable thing. I got offered 2 room nights already. That's within about week. Never seen a program so quick. I assume that the 2-month delay on freeplay offers still applies, as properties seem to want to have a time sample size before deciding what to offer.

I'm not very optimistic, though, given my bad theo.

Also, I ran bad despite hitting four deuces twice -- partially because neither of those had a multiplier, and partially because my multipliers all turned into shit.

    Wyndham Business Earner Card.

Requires a business TIN to get. Costs $95 per year.

    Some lucky people get insta-approved.

Other assholes like me get put through a hellish process where it gets rejected/delayed/stuck. Took me 10 hours on the phone over a period of about 5-6 weeks to finally get approved. Honestly the toughest credit card I've ever applied for. And I got some lol low limit (which doesn't matter, obviously).

Once you're approved, though, then you get Caesars Diamond every year for the foreseeable future, and it only requires reapplying for the status match every February. That's the only reason I put up with that bank's bullshit.

My understanding is that Diamond Plus is the only worthwhile TR status.

Was the hassle you went through worthwhile?

    Your understanding is incorrect.

Diamond is the most important status to have at Caesars. Beyond that becomes a law of diminishing returns.

    Here's what Diamond gets you:

    - Free parking (though this is also available for the lower Platinum tier

    - No resort fees (huge if you're staying at the hotels)

    - Priority lines and VIP rooms (very important for WSOP, cashier cage, restaurants, checkin)

    - Automatic line jumping ahead of non-Diamonds at WSOP cash games

    - Free upgrades to best non-suite rooms on property

    - Various exceptions made to policies, and overall better service

    - $100 food credit

Diamond Plus' only benefit in addition to the above is either drink coupons or access to Laurel lounges. Who cares?

    The D+ drinks are worth 4x$25=$100 per day...that's a $36500 value.

Laurel Lounge for 2 was worthwhile when they were called Diamond Lounges.

Time passes, things change...don't count anything out.

Agreed... Barclay's is a joke, completely incompetent company and Diamond is where the value is. No resort fees is huge.

Why would a gambler care about free drinks?? And good luck finding any VIP lounges at Caesar's properties... they've closed most of them.

How did you get gold? I was going to try to match at the Mirage to Icon first, but wasn't able to get down there before we went.

To drink top shelf pours at the restaurants.

No luck needed if you know where to look.

I matched a different card at Fontainebleu which got me gold. Caesars Diamond doesn't get you gold, as you know.

Mirage also will not give you Icon for regular Diamond.

Hmmmm... I know I got Icon somehow in AC. Maybe there was another tier match somewhere that got me into it??
