Unlike the fairly stingy match requirements at Fountainebleu, Wynn doesn't require much to get to their middle Platinum tier.

Platinum gets you a Holland America cruise in an Oceanview stateroom. Not sure what is involved in getting that upgraded to a balcony (verandah) stateroom, which is what you'd really want.

Black gets you a balcony stateroom, and you can also take up to a 12-day cruise.

There is a "birthday dinner" credit of $150 for Platinum and $300 for Black, but not sure what happens if you're like me, and your birthday already passed this calendar year.

You do get $100 spa credit for Platinum, and $200 for Black.


I believe they made a mistake allowing Caesars Platinum to match to Wynn Platinum. Caeasars Platinum is very easy to achieve, and in fact you can get it by signing up for the Caesars Rewards credit card (though that only lasts one year). I believe the military and veterans can also get complimentary Caesars Platinum. This is definitely the easiest path to Wynn Platinum.

The MGM equivalent to Caesars Platinum is Pearl, but that doesn't get you anything here.

Notably absent is the Mirage/Hard Rock program.

It's unfortunate I didn't see any mention of waiving resort fees in their tier benefits. It's odd they match Caesars Platinum through Diamond Elite to the same tier... and then not match MGM Pearl or Stations Platinum at all?? Doesn't make much sense...

Resorts fees are not automatically waived at Wynn, but any decent play will get the job done.

The only ways to get into the VIP tower suites lounges are with starred (RFB) tower suites keys as part of a current stay, or with a Chairman's card. Black card doesn't do it any longer. The Wynn/Encore VIP lounges are the best in town, by far, as far as food, drink and service. I've known of some degenerate high rollers who wouldn't even take time to eat if it weren't for those lounges.

Chairman's card also gets free tower suites valet at any time.

Otherwise, I don't keep up with what each tier gives or doesn't give I just earn it based on play (theo loss) and have the host comp everything off. We actually have stayed at Wynn with zero play before - for ridiculously long times fully RFB, but prior monstrous action carries a lot of weight, at least for 1 or 2 trips until they start complaining.

This, in fact, has always annoyed me when discussing tier benefits. I had a debate along these lines with Daryl McEwen of Seven Stars Insider (RIP) when they took away the Seven Stars "guaranteed 4-5 free nights" room benefit in the late 2010s.

He dismissed it as inconsequential because "Seven Stars members always get free rooms anyway".

I told him that this wasn't always true, if their play was inconsistent, had a low ADT/MDV, or was not particularly recent. He told me that HE always got comp rooms, and couldn't picture any other Seven Stars member not getting them. I then informed him that I was one of those Seven Stars not automatically getting comped, and he treated me like a fluke outlier.

The whole point of tier benefits is getting guaranteed benefits, regardless of your recent play or what hosts feel like doing.

In fact, this is also why I always advise AGAINST letting hosts fix hotel/restaurant billing problems. Because they don't fix anything. They just comp off the billing mistake, which eats into your comp power. Most people don't get this, and think that hosts are just magic fixers.

I used to be super tilted at Caesars when there would be some kind of stupid hotel billing fail, and they'd tell me "have your host fix it".

I didn't know Wynn Chairman existed though. Interesting.

Y'all remember the origin of the "Chairman" tier at casinos? It was megawhale Terrence Watanabe, who demanded it in 2007 because he didn't think Seven Stars was exclusive enough. They created it just for him. Now there's no more Chairman at Caesars, but other companies have adopted the rank.

Black does indeed get a balcony ("verandah") stateroom, and with no restrictions.

Unfortunately, Platinum not only is limited to oceanview (no balcony), but also has to stay at Wynn twice ("non-consecutively") in the past year in order to get it. So that starts to make this not worth it, unless you want to stay at Wynn anyway.

That's actually a really good point. Better to fix the mistake for free than use up your available comps.

Let me guess how a 7 Star might not be able to get a room. You reached the status with a high RTP game like VP and also picked up a bunch of daily tier credit bonuses, so your theo would be relatively low. Then at some point you took a comp room and did not play at all, at least once or maybe twice?

Yes, that's one way to do it. Each market attempts to evaluate my localized history with them only. In Vegas, they won't like what they see -- and therefore if I want to stay in Vegas tonight, I have to pay. My best self-book rate through the calendar is $14, at Harrah's.

The markets where I'm unrated will evaluate my national rating, however that's calculated. But markets vary drastically in difficulty. In Atlantic City tonight on a weeknight, I'm comped at any of the three. But my best Arizona option tonight is $300 at Harrah's Ak-Chin.

Tier status doesn't factor in at all, afaik, on the calendar.

Possibly a host would up-front comp me, but I don't have much experience attempting that at Caesars.

Doesn't really matter how the room is booked, as it goes into the system the same way. It records you as using $X worth of comps for that night, with X being what they assign the wholesale value of the room, and it doesn't matter if you booked on an offer code, the website, or via a host.

However, it is true at almost all properties nowadays that hosts comping to fix mistakes will eat into your comp power for the future. It's not like the old days where hosts were given a lot of leeway as to what they could offer. In today's world of bean counters, hosts are given a fairly strict guideline by their system as to what they can give you, with only a small amount of leeway. And while they can override these limits, they're basically sticking out their own neck to do so.

Therefore, unless the dollar value is very small, it's a huge mistake to have hosts fix hotel/restaurant billing mistakes.

"Fix this $300 error on my bill" will show up the same way as "Give me $300 worth of rooms/food", so you might as well use it on the latter. You can fix your own issues without a host's "help". Hosts absolutely never "fix" anything. They just comp shit off and that's that. The only reason to accept such help from a host is if you're so overcomped that you'll never get back in the black anyway.
