But I didn't really go out of my way looking for it. There was no way I was going to drive highway night and day looking for it.

KJ told me how the glitch worked which meant I knew what to look for. I kept it under wraps. But if he told others then all they had to do was check all BJ machines. He may have exposed the play himself.
This says a lot. No self-proclaimed AP in their right mind who discovers and plays what we refer to as a very profitable glitch, would or should ever announce the play to any other player during its existence for any reasons whatsoever. It shows zero discipline and a huge need for praise--and speaking from solid experience, they're traits completely counter to every AP out there.

    Kew whiffs again!

I am a bit confused how this bug could have occurred in the first place. A large gaming manufacturer would copy their code from previously produced games -- none of which would have ever allowed hit after double.

It also is highly unlikely to be an option the casino chooses to enable.

With that said, if it's a new variant of electronic BJ, perhaps they just made some boneheaded developmental error and didn't do very robust testing.

I would like to know how your brother discovered it.

It's not the inherent implausibility but KJs prior lies that make it impossible to believe him now.

Incidentally I believe his description of how it worked is inspired by how the Dealer Angels insurance glitch worked.

I do suspect the $200/hr claim doesn't hold up under scrutiny but it would take some work to substantiate that. In my admittedly limited experience electronic BJ and stadium BJ always takes multiple black chips.

umm....he was playing the game, doubled down and after drawing a card saw the hit button light up, so he hit again.

I assume your real question is why he was playing the game in the first place. A game that otherwise would be -EV. I asked that question myself about 6 times before I got an answer. And the answer was that sometimes, he likes to fuck around on the electronic games, playing a strategy about reverting back to the norm. I did tell him that is not a real (+EV) strategy and he said he knew that. I didn't quite get it, but he can do what he wants.

As far as coach trying to play his gottch ya games. Someone, I think Maxpen, asked what you could double down on. At that point, I had only played the game for a few minutes myself, just to verify that you could indeed hit after doubling. So I wasn't sure if you could double on soft hands. Turned out you couldn't. In his usual fashion, coach belly is making a big tadoo about nothing. I had played the game for a few minutes at that point and didn't know.

Look, I am not a gambling math genius. never claimed to be. I figure out what advantage I am playing with by running computer simulations, using Norm's Qfit software. There was no running a simulation for this rule (hit after doubling down) because it isn't a real blackjack rule. So I asked some players that would know. That is the only reason I mentioned it in the first place back in March. As Mickey said, that very well may have alerted others to the game.

You could have just done the following:

    1. Run a sim where you can only hit twice.
    2. In all the situations where hitting is +EV when you can only hit twice (+EV in an absolute sense, not relative to other options), double that EV and compare it to the EV of hitting when you can hit until you bust.
    3. If the former is higher than the latter, you should double in that situation.

IGT had a blackjack game found on the Game Kings that we exploited for years. It was a 3/2 game with a few other rules that made it a 99.5% game and that's what the actual payback screen said the game was.

But there were two glitches that brought the game up to 100%. These two features were not listed on the rules screen:

    1. You could double after splitting.

    2. Split Aces catching paint were automatically paid 3/2 blackjack.

So I had a breakeven game (100%). What could I do with it?

Axel knows this game. It was single deck. I used Wizard's single deck composition strategy to suck every last tenth of a percent out of the game.

In those days houses had same day cashback. So let's say the card was worth .3333% CB and they had a triple point day. That's 1%.

When you got practiced the game played at 1000 betting decisions per hour. It was $20 max bet (some machines were $100 max bet) and some machines had "LET IT RIDE" which meant you could bet whatever you were paid.

If you bet $20 and win the hand it paid you what you bet plus the $20 you won, for $40. The next hand you could bet $40. Win that hand and the next hand you could bet $80, etc. The effect was increased variance but you ran much more action, hence, more cashback per hour.

I seen one goofball keep doubling until he got a W-2G. That happened when Harrah's took over Binion's. That first promotion at Binion's was a doozy. Lot's of different things to play with big edges. I couldn't get on the video blackjack. But one player kept doubling until he got W-2G's. That brought unwanted attention. Floor people wanting to know why they are hand paying video blackjack jackpots. They removed the game. Don't ever think that just because someone is smart enough to figure out they got an an edge on the casino....is not dumber than a rock on implementing strategy.

I would never let it ride above $200.

Then, also, when you go to cash out, switch to a high variance video poker game and cash out. I learned that when at Rampart I cashed out a 3K handpay and the floor attendent said "A handpay on a blackjack game?" I said I had just switch to it but never cashed with it on the BJ game again.

I got as high as 2.5% cashback so it was a goldmine. The game carries low variance. 9/6 Jacks has a variance of 19 where blackjack, same number of hands, is 2. So it was payday everyday when you got the cashback.

A 10K wager per hour was worth $100 per hour, 20K, $200 per hour, etc.

But the game was also good for running action on drawing tickets. I'm sure axel has done some of this.

After years some houses switched the game out for a lower paying game. The easy chop is to remove 3 for 2 on BJ. In IGT's worst video BJ game there are no extra rules beneficial to the player. You are dealt 2 cards, can hit or stand, and that's it. Blackjack pays even money.

But it's still an easy low variance way to run off freeplay where you will capture almost all the money.

I told this story because it was easy for me to guess KJ's play was a glitch and not in the rules. I have seen it before.

We always wondered why and how the glitch got there. We chalked it up to a programmer's error, whether intentional or not.

I found out about the play from a somewhat AP player, but mostly a broke ass degenerate. The game was at Casino Royale. From there I found it in other places in Las Vegas and Reno.

I didn't have to play to find if the glitches worked on a particular machine. Of the IGT video BJ variants this 100% game it's it's own unique game rules screen.

Having said all this the KJ glitch is believable to me.

Challenge to redietz. We bet every NFL regular season game. You make the picks. If you lay the fav I get 2 extra points. If you take the dog I get a 2 point discount. Easy pickings for you.

PS: I also used this game back in 2006/7 on the Peppermill properties in Wendover to get everything for free, rooms, meals, poker tournament entries, haircuts, cigarettes, bar tabs, jewelry, top shelf booze, spa.

I quickly got to their top card playing this game.

The card was worth .8% comp dollars. I stayed for free for months at the time and made money in the poker games, video poker and advantage slots.

It was my last play in Nevada before moving to Montana.

The point of this thread, again, is that UNKewlJ craves some kind of redemption for having been repeatedly outed with lies.

So UNKewLying wrote to someone hoping that that someone would later step in to confirm that the play exists. Did he? or did he just give us a few lengthy posts about something else, related only tangentially, from the past.

At this point the Fraud(J) can't even keep track of whether he claimed the game was or was not electronic. Why would the inquiry into his latest claim need to go beyond that?

Mostly, UNKewlJ is in a, as AccountInQuestion has put it: Neverending quest for street creds on the internet.

Bottom line, MCrimm, are you vouching for UNKewlJ, or just telling us what we already know:

For fun I split ten-value cards until I caught an Ace (when dealer's upcard was 5 or 6). If you catch an ace hitting a split 10-value card, you also get the 3/2 - obviously it is -EV, but I was curious.

Well I've made no claims that need to be proven. On the other hand you have regularly claimed making tens to hundreds of thousands through various means: counting, contests, jackpots, a settlement, sports betting and of course now a lucrative machine play. Seems you need to be seen as a successful AP in every form of gaming.

Don't short change me. I have also done quite well playing the Video Poker mailer game for many of years (kind of dead now). And in 2011 or 2012, I had a 6-month period playing the big six wheel (using the Grosjean method) that I did quite well. I believe I was responsible for Treasure Island switching over to the electronic version.

And one of the top AP's here is Vegas still refers to me as a salamander and one trick pony.

Everything I do is the simplest, most elementary forms of advantage play. And yet it all works and adds up. And through it all, I remain most proud of my blackjack career and achievements. I am a lowly card counter at heart.

And the haters just obsess and run their mouths saying "it can't be because he is queer".

This is all in your mind. I don't recall anyone ever saying they don't believe your claims because you're gay. You're making yourself into a victim with this kind of nonsense.

As the late Alan said, you've got quite an imagination. Personally I think you should try writing for a living. The stuff you come up with is more believable than much of the garbage in the movies and on TV.

    Try Zero

    .
I know one, me. All of the WoV regulars know about it.

I don't believe that the machine would have passed basic testing and left the manufacturer with such an obvious problem.
The infamous double up bug required a multistep manipulation. This requires that the player hit the double down button and watch what happens.

True. Software is a must. Not just for professional level blackjack players, but anyone playing for decent money who is serious about their play. Some guys write their own software and programs. For those of us that don't have that capability, I always like to mention Norms software (Qfit Products).

Despite my issues with Norm, for about a decade now, which really stems from him allowing a player, T3 to make ridiculous claims that defied the math (sound familiar?), Norms products are the best. Can't imagine where I would have been without them. And if you have any issues, Norm will take care of it.

No need Half Smoke. The trolls and haters are going to troll and Hate.

Good call on the Preakness. Would have been better if Mystic Dan ran out as you were hoping. But made a few bucks. I liked your reasoning. Usually do.

Half Smoke (lilredrooster) and UNKewlJ walk hand in hand down that same path of swearing off forums, or swearing off commenting about / talking to forum members, and then breaking the same vows helplessly, so being cut from the same weak willed cloth, it makes some sense that they would be supportive of each others' claims.
