About a year or so ago I wrote an article about an idea a friend of mine had:
He wanted to play with true professional chips -- the best chips that real casinos use. So his idea was to go to Las Vegas to a casino where he likes the chip size, weight, feel and style, and buy 500 of their $1 chips. He would bring the chips home for his home games.
He told me his idea was economical. "Professional poker chips" can easily cost between $1.08 and $1.35 each, and casinos will sell you their chips at face value. And if you ask nicely, they just might sell you all new chips.
Casinos would love for you to take the chips home because that's cash in the bank for them -- and the casinos get their chips at discounted prices.
Anybody ever do this?
