P.S. - Trump hasn't had a Counter Sniper Teams since he left office in 2020.
Odd that the day he gets shot, they gave him a counter sniper team.
Imagine the odds of this happening without a plan or consipiracy.
And that team allowed 8 shots to be fired at Trump till they took out their target?

I'll give you a preview from my next blog regarding this: Yeah, here's a question that has not been asked, much less answered, in public. What prioritization and changes in Secret Service manpower and changes in seniority of that manpower (quantity and quality) occurs when a "former president" formally becomes a "current candidate for president?" Because if the rules and allocation of resources changes when that change-of-status occurs, then that Butler rally was definitively the final opportunity to attack the "former president" allocation and status before the upgrade occurred to "current candidate" after the RNC.

You see what I'm saying, monet?

For that particular, and other, reasons, that Butler rally was the last, best opportunity to pull off an assassination with a clusterfuck, clown car protective roster and plan in place.

By the way, monet, I had a nice, quiet solo dinner at Vic and Anthony's last night. Just a steak and au gratins. Calm, soothing environment Had a late reservation, so just six or seven tables filled. Sat there and went over Circa futures.

    Pretty Sweet.
I haven't had dinner there for a long time.
Not much to play at the Nugget to abuse their comps.
I haven't looked since before Covid so there could be plenty but I'm not hunting down Vision Machines.
Personally, I miss places like William B's and Great Moments.
I read they reopened Top of Binion's but since the 4 Queens Merger neither place has been the same or worth it IMO.
Hugo's and Binion's used to be special but downtown is not what it used to be.
Shit, I really miss the old coffee shop and Benny Binion's when it was downstairs.
The new one has this goofy rule that they will not seat you if your whole party is not present.
So, if your wife is in the bathroom, you can't be seated, you got to wait.
And if they seat you and she comes in late they will refuse to serve her lol.
    Fucking World has gone Mad.

The whole Trump thing is ridiculous.
They must of told him to STFU about it, cause he doesn't talk about it much.
If I was him, I'd be screaming bloody murder everyday how the establishment tried to murder him.
I find him entertaining but he's the same as the rest of them.
Just on a different team, sort of.
But the whole thing is definitely an inside job that nobody is talking about except a handful of youtube podcasts.

My first meal in LV was middle-of-the-night breakfast in Binion's downstairs. I think 1981. A lot of famous folks hung out there in the early AM. It was a nice place -- all wood and $2 breakfasts. Man, I wish I had one day to relive all those places.

I haven't been in Hugo's in many years, but that streak almost ended yesterday. I was waiting for Magnolia's to open for breakfast (evidently they always open late), and the manager announced we would be eating the Magnolia's breakfasts in Hugo's that morning. Do not know why or what the issue was, but they shifted their service to Hugo's for the morning.

I couldn't stick around for another half hour delay, though, so I headed out and did not get to revisit Hugo's.

ChiSox brought home the money. I had half on the moneyline; half on the run line.

The "all-time (AL) losers" had this wager by the balls, to paraphrase Jethro Tull. Talk about shuffling madness. Who else do you know who would advertise taking a team on the road with a 21-game losing streak?

If you didn't figure it out, shame on you. There aren't too many "all time losers" in baseball.

May take them for half the amount tomorrow, depending. Will report once I make a decision.

    Say thank you.

I figured it had something to do with the White Sox since they are all the buzz right now.
But that's not how I do things.
    See... you're a hedger, I'm not.
    I go with the streaks.
    Not against them.

And you know that I would have put all my money on either the Run Line or the Money Line.
    I wouldn't split it.
And I most likely go with the Run Line because it pays better.

Line was probably off by 20% or more. Rare. I mean, really, the A's are, if not total crap, a step above total crap. The ChiSox are crap, but they figured to play the game. I have to admit, I've kept an eye on the White Sox all year because they have underachieved what I expected pre-season by the largest margin I have ever seen. But I'm not stupid enough to put actual money on a team that hits .220 across the board unless I have a real good excuse. This was that excuse.

I figured most people who solved the riddle wouldn't bet it anyway. I mean, you have to be loony tunes to put cash on this team. So of course I did. On the road. LOL. Got a little lucky. The starting pitcher was in trouble the first three innings. Fortunately, he was up against another Mendoza Line lineup.

    Hey Monet,

Did not pull trigger today. The line was off by just a tick or two. Would have split -- would have lost moneyline, won run line. You gotta love 'em. Gave up no hits for five.

So it was a once and done. But I'll take it. Pays for a couple of Vic and Anthony's. Speaking of eating, I did visit Hugo's for a Magnolia's breakfast today. Limited menu. It was okay, but not worth $30 plus tip for a modest breakfast. They yanked the french toast off the menu, so I was stuck.

Heading home tomorrow morning. Goddamn, coolest day was 110 while I was here...again. I'm too old for this brutality. The 105s I can handle. When you get to 110, it's a pain.

College football is going to be a zoo. I love it.

I rarely go outside in the summer when the sun is up.
74 degrees Fahrenheit in the house.
Breakfast at Queens or Shoe isn't anything special if you're paying for it.
    I can't imagine eating breakfast at Hugo's.
    Just doesn't compute to me.
Too Bad they closed Dupar's a few years back.
    Good Food and Good Nostalgia.
Beating the Book isn't that difficult IMO.
You just got to keep at it.
    Like anything else in life.

Oh Yeah, I miss Careful Kitties at the El Cortel too.
Not to mention the Coffee Shop across the street.
That Coffee Shop was featured in the Burt Reynolds Movie: HEAT.

    Full Movie HEAT.
Burt Reynolds walking from the El Cortel starts around the 11:40 minute walk.
    It's a really good shot.
Every car on the street or passing by is a boat.
My first car was like that.
    1979 Pontiac Bonneville.
    New York Steak 5.99.
That coffee shop meal hasn't gone up much in the last 40 years.

Hey, did you hear about the Mexican Phone Company... Taco Bell!?
    lol

That's good, monet. Much appreciate the Reynolds clip.

I can't believe I passed on a freebie meal at Plaza yesterday. But tacos won't help my cholesterol check next week. Neither did Vic and Anthony's or that Magnolia's breakfast. Maybe they will flunk me. Good. Then I can get off this damn medicine, which I suspect is doing more harm than good.

I've been living with High Blood Pressure for years now.
My body has been failing slowly for about 2 years.
I can feel and notice the changes.
I ain't going to the doctor.
    I ain't taking no medicine.
    I cannot stop death.
I don't particularly want to die but it's inevitable.
Fast with no pain would be nice but whatever.
I have a small cyst in my upper palm.
I went to one doctor for a consultation but didn't like the hoops they wanted me to jump through.
They charged my insurance 3300 dollars for a five-minute talk.
I called my insurance and told them not to pay this scam bullshit.
Our medical system is beyond fucked.
And as mentioned before my wife had carpal tunnel surgery that made her hand worse lol.
Everyone I know who had multiple carpal tunnel surgeries has not worked.
But they charge the insurance company over 10k to do the procedure each time lol.
